If StarNet editors are just now tumbling to the fact that their comments section is a popular hangout for trolls, they haven't been paying attention.

Uh-oh! The Colonial Fleet is running out of food! And the only way to get more is to travel through a nasty radiation field to an algae planet. (Wonder if they have fish tacos?) Last Friday's Battlestar Galactica ep, "The Passage" (written by Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Jane Espenson) also revealed that second-string character Kat had a deep dark secret, and that Baltar wants D'Anna to keep offing herself so that he can figure out if he's one of the five missing Cylon models. (Also, I'm guessing he wants her to keep sharing his bed with Caprica Six.)

Helo, a harsh grader, gave the episode an F; Athena and I thought it was more deserving of a C. I was expecting more build-up to next week's episode, seeing as that's the mid-season finale—and the last episode before we move to Sunday nights in January. Also, it seemed like the whole starving-fleet desperation thing got abandoned by the end of the episode.

So a dude was caught near Yuma trying to smuggle an alligator. I think I speak for all Tucsonans when I say: Wha?

Hey, kids! We're putting together our New Year's Guide, slated for publication in the Dec. 21 issue. If you know of any information about events, music performances, dances, dining specials, etc., around New Year's, please send them to me at [email protected]. And please do it, like, soon. Thanks.

Gee, the top-of-the-page story in the Star this morning sure looked familiar.

Heh heh heh.

Here's an interesting blog from the Search Engine Journal about how Google Ad Words and Ad Sense (sponsored ads) are supporting terrorist groups.

So even though it's all over Soundbites, I feel the need to remind y'all that The Great Cover-Up, by far THE best annual charity event (how often does one get to see nearly all of Tucson's musicians indulging in quite a bit of theatricality?) begins TONIGHT. And no whining about staying up late on a week night--- it'll wrap up before midnight tonight. You'll be there, right? Rockin' with your socks off, right? Well, maybe you should keep your socks on. The floor can be kinda slippery at good 'ol Club Congress.

With food supplies running low on Battlestar Wicklatica, Helo and I took the raptor out to Taqueria Pico de Gallo (2618 S. Sixth Ave.) for fish tacos the other day. We both got the lunch special, which included three fish (or shrimp) tacos, rice, beans, and a soda pop or horchata. Cost: Seven bucks and change.

The fish was lightly breaded, in a flour or corn tortilla (we both got flour), with the usual fixins. Helo had no complaints; I was more: meh, a little bland. The beef and chicken options were better on earlier visits.

Still on the lookout for recomendations.

On the right, below the recent comments. It's another fresh issue of the Tucson Weekly. Go read it now! Please?

Hey, everyone. This is your last chance to participate in the Weekly's upcoming Get Out of Town! edition. While my last post about this got a few incomprehensible screeds intriguing comments, we did not get very many -- and one of the few good suggestions is already being done by a staffer. So ... if you want to kick someone or something out of town, give me your two cents in the comments section. Your suggestion just might appear in the dead-tree version. Get thee to it!
