Access Tucson has avoided cancellation and is back in business, but not without fewer resources. Details from the latest bulletin from the non-profit public-access TV station:

Last Tuesday 3/9 the Mayor and Council took an important step toward the survival of community media in Tucson. By a vote of 6-1 (with Councilmember Rodney Glassman voting no - he moved to eliminate all funding for Access Tucson next year but that motion died for lack of a second) they directed Tucson 12 to move in with Access Tucson at 124 E. Broadway. They also said that there will be parity* of funding and support for Tucson 12 and Access Tucson. While the details of Tucson 12's move have yet to be worked out, there was clear support for both Access Tucson and Tucson 12 to continue to provide their award-winning services into the future.

*According to Webster's New World Dictionary, parity means equality in power, value, etc.

An O’Hungry’s Restaurant is on track to open next month at 944 E. University Blvd., in Main Gate Square, according to the general manager of the restaurant’s original location in San Diego.

Stan Chu tells The Range that he’s working out some details with the liquor license and kitchen equipment for the new Tucson location, and that he hopes to have the restaurant open by the end of April.

The O’Hungry’s Restaurant in San Diego is famous for serving full yards of beer, which is illegal in Arizona due to a liquor law that prohibits the serving of more than 32 ounces of beer at a time. Diners at the Tucson location will have to make do with half-yards of beer, Chu said.

Republican J.D. Hayworth, the former congressman seeking to unseat U.S. Sen. John McCain, presents an entirely new idea about horsing around.

Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) primary challenger, former Arizona congressman J.D. Hayworth, warned this past weekend that the same-sex marriage decision handed down by the Massachusetts Supreme Court is so loose in its logic and wording that it could lead to a man marrying his horse.

Appearing on Orlando, Fla. radio station WORL on Sunday, the Arizona conservative had what could be described as a Rick Santorum "man on dog" moment.

"You see, the Massachusetts Supreme Court, when it started this move toward same-sex marriage, actually defined marriage -- now get this -- it defined marriage as simply, 'the establishment of intimacy,'" Hayworth said. "Now how dangerous is that? I mean, I don't mean to be absurd about it, but I guess I can make the point of absurdity with an absurd point — I guess that would mean if you really had affection for your horse, I guess you could marry your horse. It's just the wrong way to go, and the only way to protect the institution of marriage is with that federal marriage amendment that I support."

Local band Race You There has made an entrancing new stop-motion music video from more than 2,500 Google Map images. The video, which took more than 60 hours to assemble using video-editing software, screen-capture software, photoshop and Google, has had nearly 12,000 views on YouTube since it was posted five days ago. (The song isn't bad, either.)

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D) and former state Sen. Jonathan Paton (R) have known one another for almost half of their lives. They even dated — briefly.

But, their relationship now is less cordial as Paton, a fast riser just six years removed from his first election (to the state House) prepares to challenge the two-term Democratic incumbent in the southeastern Arizona 8th district.
