Not of all that much interest to me, but since someone put so much time into creating this infographic, I thought it was worth sharing. One of the most prominent search terms bringing people to our site is "Big Dicks" (it's a long story), so maybe this will help some of our readers with their vacation plans.

An opportunity to get some much needed housing assistance is about to come available for thousands of local individuals, couples and families struggling to pay their rent.

Tucson's Housing and Community Development department is re-opening the waiting list for its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, which depending on need would provide access to federal funds to pay for part — or, in some cases — all of a person's rent and utilites.

The list will be open from Dec. 13-15, during which time people can apply for assistance online or pick up a paper application at dozens of locations throughout Pima County. The applications must be turned in by Dec. 15 in order to be considered for the waiting list, and once all eligible applications are verified a lottery system will be used to place the applications on the list.

The lottery system is being used to make everyone who applies have the same chance of getting assistance, preventing those with disabilities or who turn their applications in at the last minute from being further down the list, Tucson Community Services Manager Ron Koenig said.

"There's no advantage or disadvantage to being first or last," said Koenig, who expects about 5,000 applications to be submitted during the three-day window.

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, a joint city-Pima County venture that is operated entirely through funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, currently provides assistance to about 5,200 clients.

Those who qualify for assistance this time around — Koenig said it's the first time the waiting list has been opened since 2008 — will join about 700 people currently on the waiting list.

"This opening is in preparation for us exhausting the current waiting list," Koenig said.

Online applications (which Koenig said is his department's preferred method for people to use, since paper applications must be mailed and cannot be dropped off in person) will go live on Dec. 13, while paper applications will be available the same day at all 27 Pima County libraries as well as various community centers and the Section 8 housing office, 310 N. Commerce Park Loop.

Who knows which of the Republican hopefuls will show up at this event (although I doubt any of them would likely snub Newsmax), but if this actually happens, clearly the party has given up on being taken seriously. Why not just have the candidates appear on a very special series of Celebrity Apprentice? If I could see Mitt Romney create a marketing campaign for a videophone, I'd really have a better idea of how he would be as president, I think.

Donald Trump is pairing up with Newsmax, the conservative magazine and news Web site, to moderate a presidential debate in Des Moines on Dec. 27.

“Our readers and the grass roots really love Trump,” said Christopher Ruddy, chief executive of Newsmax Media. “They may not agree with
him on everything, but they don’t see him as owned by the Washington establishment, the media establishment.”

Mr. Trump’s role in the debate, which will be broadcast on the cable network Ion Television, is sure to be one of the more memorable moments in a primary season that has already delivered its fair share of circus-like spectacle.

Newsmax sent candidates the invitation on Friday afternoon. It began, “We are pleased to cordially invite you to “The Newsmax Ion Television 2012 Presidential Debate,” moderated by a truly great American, Mr. Donald J. Trump.” Spokesmen for several candidates did not immediately respond to questions from The New York Times about whether they would accept.

Democrat Nancy Young Wright, a former state lawmaker and Amphi School Board member, has taken another step closer to running for the Pima County Board of Supervisors next year for District 1 seat now held by the retiring Supervisor Ann Day.

Potential Republican candidates include Vic Williams, who was Wright's seatmate in LD26 for several years (they don't get along too well); Stuart McDaniel, a mortgage broker who worked on the campaign of unsuccessful congressional candidate Jesse Kelly in 2010; Ally Miller, a Tea Party activist; and Charlie Bowles, vice president of sales and marketing for Diamond Ventures.

Nancy Young Wright has filed an exploratory committee for the office of Pima County Supervisor, District 1. The seat is currently held by Supervisor Ann Day, who is retiring. The election will be held Nov. 6, 2012.

Young Wright served for three years as a state representative for Legislative District 26, which covers 400 square miles in northwest Pima County. During her time in the Legislature, she worked successfully across the aisle on bipartisan bills involving foster care, local fire districts, law enforcement and animal welfare.

“Arizona and Pima County are facing important challenges. Now, more than ever, we must put partisanship aside and solve problems,” she said. “The hard-working families in this district deserve a supervisor who will be a dedicated, common-sense fighter for their values and quality of life."

I think you have to be dubious of any music video uploaded by an user with the name "attorneyguy", but gosh, there's so much to like in the new video from Alternate Reality, "The King That Never Was". It takes a little while for the actual song to kick in, but it's totally worth waiting a bit for. Plus, there are a bunch of women with swords, if that's your thing.

I understand the idea behind Herman Cain's new site, Women for Herman Cain, and it would seem that someone is screening the testimonials going up online in support of the Cain Train, but I'm not entirely sure Adrienne (Caos) Sinclair's words on behalf of the "999 Problems" candidate is going to help his cause:

That was a long time ago and it is funny and it is so normal men who have that kind of heart, My dad would give a waitress 100 dollar tips and I just thought since I was a child that was normal, giving unconditional that is true Christianity and I get Herman Cain and A president who will save the Republic, I wish there are more Herman Cains they don't show up at big benefits they give and only God can see, that is real to me,,, yes and I have had a life where I can give even when it hurt to women men children, that was a good lesson to learn where only God can see>
