The same people who gave us Rebecca Black's "Friday" have now provided the world with a festive holiday number from 12-year-old Nicole Westbrook.

At one point in the video, Westbrook sings into a turkey leg she snatched from the dinner table. Do you really need to know more?

Still, currently hovering around 9.9 million views, the video seems likely to breach 10 million before Turkey Day.

I have a few questions about the video. Since when do pre-teens cook an entire turkey and all the trimmings alone? Where are her parents? Don't the kids in this video have their own Thanksgivings to attend? What happened to Valentine's Day?

Stella Java, the slick little cafe located in the Medical Plaza building next to St. Mary's Hospital, is moving into a space at Mercado San Agustin at 100 S. Avenida del Convento.

Union Public House, the gastropub in St. Phillip's Plaza on the corner of Campbell Avenue and River Road, is holding its first beer dinner on Monday, Dec. 3. The restaurant started taking reservations today and if the event turns out to be as popular as the various other dinners the place holds, you might want to score a spot early.

The dinner will feature five courses paired with beers crafted by New Belgium Brewing, makers of Fat Tire, Trippel and many other beers. Tickets are $50 and can be reserved by calling 329-8575.

In other beer-paired dining news, keep your eye out for a series of beer dinners up at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. We went to their first beer dinner this last weekend and it was truly something to behold. Multiple chef stations overflowing with everything from fine cheeses to lamb sliders smeared with spicy harisa, and beers by Dragoon Brewing Co. to wash it all down with.

Executive Chef Ken Harvey said the resort will be holding more of the dinners in the coming months. If you like fine food and great beer you should go. That is all.

The wait is over: Tucson's first Smashburger location opens today at 4821 E. Grant Road, bringing yet another burger option to the growing number of choices here in the Old Pueblo.

What defines a Smashburger? The media packet sent out by the company puts it like this:

It's a bit early on a Tuesday to get into a lengthy magazine feature, but this portrait of a girl born without the ability to feel pain is a fascinating read—one that you're bound to go back into throughout the day.

The girl who feels no pain was in the kitchen, stirring ramen noodles, when the spoon slipped from her hand and dropped into the pot of boiling water. It was a school night; the TV was on in the living room, and her mother was folding clothes on the couch. Without thinking, Ashlyn Blocker reached her right hand in to retrieve the spoon, then took her hand out of the water and stood looking at it under the oven light. She walked a few steps to the sink and ran cold water over all her faded white scars, then called to her mother, “I just put my fingers in!” Her mother, Tara Blocker, dropped the clothes and rushed to her daughter’s side. “Oh, my lord!” she said — after 13 years, that same old fear — and then she got some ice and gently pressed it against her daughter’s hand, relieved that the burn wasn’t worse.

A couple of nights after telling me the story about putting her hand in the boiling water, Ashlyn sat in the kitchen, playing with the headband that held back her long brown hair. We had all been drawing on napkins and playing checkers and listening to Ashlyn and Tristen sing “Call Me Maybe,” when all of a sudden Tara gasped and lifted the hair away from her daughter’s ears. She was bleeding beneath it. The headband had been cutting into her skin entire time we were sitting there.

Tucson Unifed School District, as we blogged earlier tonight, is meeting tomorrow to discuss the possible closure and consolidation of 10 TUSD schools. Well that list was release tonight.

The Tucson Unified School District governing board meets tomorrow to look at a list of proposed schools to begin the process of consolidation and closures. The Range was given a letter from TUSD Superintedent John Pedicone sent to staff on Friday, Nov. 16, along with an attachment on school consolidation criteria determined by the governing board on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
