Jenny and Cynthia review Image Comics' latest title PRETTY DEADLY # 1 by Kelly Sue Deconnick and Emma Rios. For some reason Jenny is wearing a bear skull cap and Cynthia allowed that to happen. The lovely nerdy ladies give their thoughts on the new funny book and what is acceptable to tear in half. Spoiler alert: comic books aren't one of them.

Miley Cyrus' latest Adore You video isn't as smashing as Wrecking Ball, but I'm going to watch it anyway. The video is full of Miley biting some bed sheets, thumb sucking, touching herself, video selfies and there's a tub and shower scene at the end. The twerking queen is wearing see through lingerie the whole time, but I feel like that's apart of her every day wardrobe. She also does that signature weird tongue thing, again.

Sad news out of the Phoenix area, as an obituary that ran in today's Arizona Republic shows former Arizona gymnastics champion Heidi Hornbeek passed away over the weekend at age 36.
Hornbeek was a six-time All-American for the Wildcats between 1996 and 2000, winning the NCAA title in the floor exercise as a freshman. She won the AAI American Award in 2000 as the nation's top senior gymnast, then went on to a successful career as a surgeon.
Hornbeek was inducted into the University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 2005, and in 2007 her leotard was retired and hung in the rafters at McKale Center.
Her memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Phoenix.

Travis Barker, Blink-182 drummer, announced that he is currently writing a memoir. The 38 year-old musician originally played for The Aquabats, toured the world with Blink-182, collaborated with some of the best in the music industry, started a clothing company, founded a record label and survived a horrific plane crash. Barker should have more interesting stories than the amount of tattoos that cover his body. The book is expected to release in the fall of 2014.
Here's the official announcement:

It’s comin out Fall 2014 and I can’t wait to share it with ya’ll . Anyhow ….enjoy your Christmas, your kids , your family/ loved ones and holidays. Much love & continued blessings to all of u. #Blessed #Family My motto will always be hash tagged #NobodycaresGoharder (after all we only live once right) Also I’m picking the winner of my 65 Cadillac right after the holidays for those asking. One of the best cartoons and female superhero teams since Josie and The Pussy Cats are back. Cartoon Network is resurrecting the Powerpuff Girls with an all new look and animation style. The cast contains all the original voice actors, but the only new addition is legendary drummer Ringo Starr.

Yesterday former NSA contractor Edward Snowden delivered Channel 4 UK's annual "Alternative Christmas Message" in response to Queen Elizabeth II's Christmas address. Snowden's icy message comes two days after his latest interview with Washington Post; where he declared "mission accomplished." The video was filmed by a Russian journalist and collaborator Laura Poitras at a undisclosed location, according to Gawker.

It’s that jolly time of year, so today I’ll feed your inner nerd with the origins of Santa Claus.
Santa Claus is the Americanized name for St. Nicholas, a 4th Century bishop in what is now modern day Turkey. (More on that in a minute). When the Dutch settled New Amsterdam—today’s New York—they brought with them the tradition of Sinterklass, with “sint” meaning “saint”, followed by “heer”, meaning “mister”, and “klass” being a contraction of “niklass”—so, in English, it became St. Nicholas. During American myth-making in the 1800’s, one thread kept to the English name St. Nicholas while another thread eventually Americanized Sinterklaas to Santa Claus, which is really a curious combination of Latin-derived “santa” and the Germanic “Nicholas”.

Someone shot Santa in the back while a Washington, D.C. news station was covering a toy giveaway. The poor Santa Claus was just waving and shouting "Ho Ho Ho" when someone nailed Santa with a pellet gun, according to ABC7 reporter Kris Van Cleave's tweets.
The Grinch didn't do it this time.

You can show your kids Santa delivering presents and pieces of coal to all the little boys and girls of the world in real time. NORAD Santa Tracker shows you how many presents have been delivered, where the sleigh was last seen and where St. Nicholas is heading to next. It shouldn't be long until Santa makes his way to the Old Pueblo.

Here's a video of the Arizona Wildcats performing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. The number one men's college basketball team knows how to hit the backboard, but they can't hit a note to save their lives. It's heart-warming and really hard to watch at the same time. Enjoy!
