If you purchased plane tickets to London in anticipation of trying breast milk ice cream, you better check the rescheduling policy:

A restaurant which put breast milk ice cream on sale have had their supplies seized by council officials amid fears it is unsafe.

The Baby Gaga ice cream will now undergo tests to see if it is safe for adult consumption.

Viruses, including hepatitis, can be passed on through breast milk.

The Icecreamists, in Covent Garden, London, said the milk had been screened in line with blood donor requirements.

It was pasteurized and churned together with vanilla pods and lemon zest. The dish comes in a martini glass and sells for £14 each.

'As far as we are aware there is no law prohibiting a business from selling breast milk ice cream,' Matt O'Connor, founder of The Icecreamists, said in a statement.

Victoria Hiley, 35, from Leeds provided the first 30 fluid ounces of milk which was enough to make the first 50 servings.

The company paid women who responded to an online advert to donate their breast milk and said all of its products meet the 'highest and safest' of food standards.

The gorda taco at the Taco Fish food trailer is as portly as its name implies. It comes soundly stacked with mounds of fish, yellow peppers and a fat deep-fried shrimp balanced up top. There are a half-dozen hot sauces to heat it up, coleslaw to cool it down, and a squeeze bottle of avocado cream sauce to just spoil yourself with.

Taco Fish stakes out a barren concrete plot on West Grant Road, just west of Sixth Avenue. It’s a tiny little outfit that is actually quite hard to miss, thanks to two “Fish Tacos” banners flapping away out front.

When eating at a small food operation like Taco Fish, it is nice to do several things. First, stuff a few singles in the Styrofoam tip cup. You know they deserve it. Second, marvel at how food with such flavor and substance can be prepared in a space so absurdly small.

Also, don’t be shy on the pico de gallo and the rest of the condiment bar. The fish is battered and fried properly on the fish tacos, but what sets off the flavors is the balance of the onions, limes and other accoutrements of the condiment line. And don’t forget about that avocado sauce. Seriously.

If you like fish tacos, you should go to Taco Fish. And if you don’t like fish tacos? Well, if anything can cure you, Taco Fish can.

So I realize America isn’t ready for breast-milk ice cream, but this quote about the London restaurant that serves it is pure gold:

"Some people will hear about it and go yuck - but actually it's pure organic, free-range and totally natural."

This bit from the mother who provides the milk isn't bad, either:

Mrs Hiley, who gets £15 for every 10 ounces of milk she donates to the company, said it was a great "recession beater."

"What's the harm in using my assets for a bit of extra cash?" she added

The fact that the ice cream is called “Baby Gaga” is also a stroke of comedic genius.

Owners Travis Reese and Nicole Flowers are revamping the patio behind 47 Scott and adding a patio to Scott and Co., the cocktail bar next door that specializes in interesting twists on pre-Prohibition cocktails.

Reese says the goal is to make the patio behind 47 Scott an extension of the indoor dining area by adding lighting and more shade. They’ve also leveled the space and will add more seating by the time the renovation is complete sometime this spring.

The outdoor area being added to Scott and Co. will have the same “hidden, speakeasy-ish” feel seen inside, said Reese. It will be a smoking patio, so they’re also working to increase the air flow through the area.

The only change that will take place as far as food and drink is that Scott and Co. will no longer serve coffee during off-cocktail hours. Those services wrap up tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 26.

There’s more information about the restaurant and the cocktail bar here and here.

You might be surprised at what's popped up at Mother Hubbard’s since Kelzi Bartholomaei bought the place.

"It's still a breakfast-and-lunch joint, but I've taken some of the greasiness out of the spoon," said Bartholomaei, who bought the restaurant at 14 W. Grant Road last April. "My tastes are pretty eclectic."

Take the breakfast hamburger topped with hash browns and a fried egg, or the "Traveler," a burger topped with pineapple and orange-ginger-Thai-pepper sauce. There are also four kinds of homemade sausage, and reuben sandwiches are made from corned beef brined in-house.

“The last thing I wanted to do was two eggs hash browns and toast, but you can still get that,” says Bartholomaei, adding that the restaurant's signature $1.99 breakfast special is still available from 6 to 8 a.m.

There are also fresh homemade biscuits and pecan-cinnamon rolls on most days and a number of unique versions of eggs Benedict on weekends.

Hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday; and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday.

John Bryant Jr. says the new Onyx Room—which we mentioned earlier this week—will be “kind of like a supper club, like they run back East.”

The food, however, will be more like what they serve down South.

“We’re doing a nice, down-home Southern menu,” Bryant said about the yet-to-open Onyx Room. “Ribs, barbecued chicken, fried chicken, catfish, shrimp, smothered pork chops, beef brisket, mashed potatoes, gravy, rice and gravy, collard greens, fried okra, black-eyed peas.”

It must be noted that the above paragraph does not do justice to how Bryant speaks of this food. The way he says it makes it sound like Bob Dylan lyrics, or a hymn, or something else beautiful and lyrical. One can tell immediately that this will not be the first catfish Bryant has ever fried.

“You know, it’s just what we would cook at home, and that’s what we want to serve to people,” he said, adding that a barbecue-sauce-slathered po’ boy stuffed with a hotlink, French fries and coleslaw is also on the menu.

John Bryant Jr. will run the kitchen. His mother and father, Johnny Bryant Sr. and Beverly Bryant, will handle the rest of the business. They’ve been busy repainting and replacing ceiling fans with chandeliers, and are shooting for an opening in early March.

The Onyx Room will also feature a full bar, tons of drink specials and karaoke nights. You can follow the place on Facebook here.

So I hear the vegetarian food at the brand-new Tasteful Kitchen down at 722 N. Stone Ave. is out of this world. I also hear the owners occasionally hold events where a lengthy yoga session is followed by a multi-course meal fit for an herbivorous king and/or queen.

Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. most nights, and the place stays open until 10 p.m. on weekends. There’s a little bit more information here.

Well now, the Onyx Room sure looks like it'll be fun when it opens. It’s like a hybrid soul-food joint and cocktail lounge, with a big dance floor thrown in for good measure. It’s going in at the huge building at 106 W. Drachman St. that’s housed several Mexican restaurants over the years.

We’re still digging up information about the new restaurant, but for the time being, you can follow it on Facebook here.

We're delighted to let you know that Tucson's Pita Jungle has finally opened at Broadway and Craycroft. I don't know what Borowitz would call it, but I'm going with Neo-Mediterranean meets California hippie goodness. Lots of great salads, wraps, hummus, pitas, smoothies, seafood and so much more.

Menu and more here.
