Yes, good people at the Humane Society have sent us another photo of an adorable adoptable cat that you won't look at without saying something like, "Awww," or "Cuuuuute." His name is Cisco, #793202, a seven-year-old domestic long hair male.

As the Humane Society’s feline greeter, Cisco will always introduce himself with a slow blink and a gracious headbump. This handsome gentleman loves being close to people and will snuggle to his heart’s content. Once you meet Cisco, it’s easy to see why he has absolutely everyone at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona smitten. He’s outgoing, unshakably calm and so endearing. Cisco is declawed, accustomed to living with other animals and happy to spend his evenings curled up by your side. Knowing some of the challenges families with kids with special needs go through, here's a new PSA for Linkages, an organization that makes employment a possibility for people of varying disabilities. In the heartfelt video, Tucsonan Maricela Martinez-Whitmore talks about her son, Bradley, and how wonderful it is for him to have a job he loves. Something we can all understand.

Linkages' 7th annual Building Bridges Awards Luncheon is Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa. Tickets are $60 each. The luncheon recognizes the employer of the year, individual of the year, project of the year, and job developer of the year.

The Hotel Congress lobby is hosting a powerful exhibition of photos by Jon Linton who aims to bring a bit of humanity to how we perceive those living on the streets:

In 2007, Jon Linton volunteered at a shelter to better understand the plight of those without a door to walk through at day’s end. He then began gathering imagery to document the homeless. Years of work have recently given rise to a large social media following, several exhibitions and a book entitled, I Have a Name. Mr. Linton still works actively in outreach and continues to collect stories and images from folks on the street

“One of the most poignant moments of this project came at the Project's inception. I asked the first man I had a conversation with his name, his reply put us both in tears, 'You have no idea how long it has been since someone has cared to ask me who I am ’, he said. The project became 'I Have a Name' in that
instant, said Jon Linton, photographer, creator and founder of IHAN.

ALLY (Arizona Life Links for Youth), Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation and the University of Arizona Museum of Art have come together to create a community and museum-based program called Mapping Q, for queer youth. The program will work with youth to investigate how symbols, signs and art can be used to express ideas of oppression and freedom for queer youth. Transportation provided to the UA when needed and incentives are available for youth who complete the event series.

What youth in the project will do with what they learn is map an art project that conveys the ideal community for them as Tucson queer youth and where they find needed support. The final session will be an exhibit of their artwork at the UA Museum of Art.

First session is next Wednesday, Oct. 8 and it continues through Dec. 3, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Eon Youth Lounge at SAAF, 375 South Euclid Ave.

The world stills feels weird without Robin Williams in it. The beloved actor/comedian took his life last Monday at his home in Tiburon, CA. His death has increased suicide prevention and depression awareness. 

The Loft Cinema will celebrate Williams' cinematic legacy this Labor Day weekend starting Friday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 1. They are going to screen Jumanji, Good Will Hunting and Hook. The net proceeds will be donated to a local nonprofit healthcare organization COPE Community Service, Inc., according to the Loft's Jeff Yanc. COPE has provided Tucsonans with services, resources, support to address general mental health and so much more.

Robert E. Cole, 56, was struck by a train near North Seventh Avenue and East Seventh Street early Friday morning, according to a press release from Tucson Police. Officers from Operations Division Downtown arrived at the intersection around 5:26 a.m., and discovered that Cole deceased at the scene. Detectives from the Traffic Investigations unit have determined that Cole was crossing the railroad tracks and was hit by the westbound train. The next of kin have been notified, according to TPD.

This is the second fatality near this train crossing intersection in two months. 25-year-old man was hit on Wednesday, July 10. Hopefully, someone at the City or DOT notices and makes some changes to stop this from happening.

Get your vision checked at no cost. The UA Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science, in conjunction with the UA Medical Center (UAMC) sponsor free monthly Healthy Eye Screenings at St. Elizabeth’s Health Center. The next screening date is Saturday, July 19, from 8 a.m. to noon. Call 694-1471 to make an appointment. St. Elizabeth's is located at 140 W. Speedway Blvd. Here's more info from a press release:

“Working at the screenings are board-certified ophthalmologists, resident ophthalmologists as well as UA medical students who will be taking your blood pressure and conduct basic vision tests,” said Jill Brickman-Kelleher, senior program manager, Alvernon Eye Care Center at the UAMC - Alvernon Physician Offices, 707 N. Alvernon Way.

Checked for during screenings are cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration and dry eye. The screenings are recommended for individuals over age 18 with a family history of eye disease, a diagnosis of diabetes and/or high blood pressure, and for those taking certain medications. The doctors will go over screening results with each patient and give them a copy of their exam. They will also provide referrals for appropriate care if required based on the screening results. Eyeglasses are not provided at the screening. If glasses are needed, patients can be referred to low-cost service at the Tucson office of the Arizona Lions Vision Center.

Additional free eye screenings will take place on Saturday, Aug. 16 and Sept. 20, also from 8 a.m. to noon. You must make an appointment. To schedule a screening appointment or for more information about upcoming screenings, call (520) 694-1471.

Michael "Microphone" Jones is one of the top three finalists that’s competing for the S’mores Music Video Contest. The video with the most votes will get $10,000. The second place winner will get a $1,000 gift card and third place consolation is a free blizzard per month for a whole year.

According to the press release, Jones filmed the 58 second music video here in Tucson, and created the score and had to include “… feeling kind of hot in this sunny weather, call up my friends and let’s get together, head to DQ…” in a the lyrics.
