If you're anything like me, in your heart of hearts, you've been crying out to watch a locally based and filmed webseries, aimed at those of us who love not only vampires, but wizards.

Well folks, we can take off our wizard robes and false fangs to rejoice. I present to you Wizard Hunters: The Series:

The series is produced by local husband-and-wife team Antonio Villagomez and Cori DiSimone, who constitute Uphill Pictures, a local company that's made a bit of a name for themselves in filming and editing commercials for local companies.

But now, they appear to have jumped right into telling the story of the long-standing war between magical beings and blood-sucking undead.

Follow the series at YouTube and Facebook.

Zombie fans, if you're going to be shuffling around out late tonight, make sure to swing by Mama's Hawaiian Bar-B-Que at 850 E. Speedway to help fund this year's Zombie Walk.

The lurching crowd of the undead plans to take over the streets this year on October 13, during that month's 2nd Saturdays event.

According to the Tucson Zombie Walk website, 20% of purchases from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. tonight will help fund this year's prowl — just make sure to mention the Zombie Walk at the register.

Anyone who makes a regular trip through the Interstate 10/Interstate 19 interchange as part of their morning or evening commute has probably noticed the ever-increasing mound of smoothed-out dirt that is forming just west of where the freeways collide.

Or, maybe you're not like me, and you keep your eyes on the road.

Anyways, this pile of earth seems to grow a little bit each day, and earth-moving vehicles regularly work the dirt into a nice, flat surface.

The start of some new project?

Nope, says the Arizona Department of Transportation, which controls the land as official right-of-way for the freeway area, and is using that particular plot to hold onto what it calls "recovered material" from the ongoing road project at I-10 and Prince Road. With Prince Road getting raised above I-10—and thus I-10 being lowered to ground level—all the dirt that currently elevates the freeway has to be dug out and moved.

Thus the growing pile at I-10 and I-19, ADOT spokeswoman Linda Ritter says.

"The recovered material is being stockpiled, watered for compaction, covered with straw for dust control, seeded and bermed," Ritter wrote in an email to The Range. "Stockpiling this material for future use will save dollars for future state road projects."

How tall the mound will get before the Prince/I-10 project is completed is anyone's guess.

Thanks to Dangerous Minds for posting two advertisements for the JohnnyCash Money Machine, an early ATM from Canada Trust Bank. 1985, when this commercial was aired, wasn't the high point of Cash's career (he was about to be dropped from his long-running label Columbia and had suffered a severe injury by ostrich a few years prior), so I suppose it makes sense he would have taken the somewhat strange gig, but it's still a little odd to see the same man who sang about murder on a Folsom Prison stage extolling the virtues of getting cash from a machine.

Bill Nye the Science Guy, one of my favorite characters from childhood, is coming to YouTube. It was announced this week via podcast that he'll be bringing his famous Science Guy videos to the website's Nerdist Channel, so keep your eyes peeled.

In the meantime, enjoy this quirky video of Bill demonstrating the correct way to tie a bow tie.

I don't understand why World Middle Finger Day is a thing, other than to codify our collective rage, but 1,216 people on Facebook can't be wrong, so apparently today is the day to put your "middle finger in the air, if you don't really care" as the intro to Kanye West's "So Appalled" says. Go nuts with it in manners that won't get you fired or arrested.

In honor of the occasion, above is my favorite middle finger moment in film, from High Fidelity. A close second, Bender in The Breakfast Club.

If you got to be part of the Disney cast at Disneyland, who do you think you could pass as? I've always thought maybe I could get away with Jasmine from Aladdin, but who knows? At the Huffington Post, however, a slideshow was compiled of politicians who happen to have some serious similarities to Disney characters. Some include Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Woody from Toy Story and more.

There are some where maybe if you squint your eyes and tilt your head a little there'd be a resemblance and others that are spot on. Take a look HERE.

From last night's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, here's either Pee-wee Herman or a remarkably adept impersonator re-dubbing the Dark Knight Rises trailer. A warning: this is the most amazing thing you'd see all day, so hold on to your hat, assuming you wore a hat to work today.

Update: It was Fallon doing a remarkable impression. Wow.
