The same people who gave us Rebecca Black's "Friday" have now provided the world with a festive holiday number from 12-year-old Nicole Westbrook.

At one point in the video, Westbrook sings into a turkey leg she snatched from the dinner table. Do you really need to know more?

Still, currently hovering around 9.9 million views, the video seems likely to breach 10 million before Turkey Day.

I have a few questions about the video. Since when do pre-teens cook an entire turkey and all the trimmings alone? Where are her parents? Don't the kids in this video have their own Thanksgivings to attend? What happened to Valentine's Day?

If you're curious for more, Westbrook spoke with ABC News about her new-found Internet popularity.

We've got this coming through here thanks to our friends over at the Phoenix New Times: Apparently, if you admit to having voted for Barack Obama, your money isn't welcome in Pinetop's Southwest Shooting Authority gun shop.

From Ammoland, where owner Cope Reynolds posted his announcement:

The sign in question.
  • Facebook
  • The sign in question.

We will try to demonstrate once again that the bottom line for our business is principle, not money.

Yes, it has been damaging at times but our values are intact.

Effective immediately, if you voted for Obama, your money is no good here. You have proven beyond a doubt that you are not responsible enough to own a firearm. We have just put a sign up on the front door to save you the trouble of walking all the way in here….

As Reynolds admitted to the New Times, this is just a political statement, and a hell of an eye-catching stunt. But let's be honest: As someone who is considered responsible enough to legally carry a concealed firearm*, being considered too irresponsible to buy one for voting for someone of a different political party is asinine.

*Yes, I know, EVERYONE is legally permitted to carry a concealed firearm in this state. That's the joke. It's not funny when you make me explain it.

18-year-old Kristen Neel of Georgia doesn't like that Barack Obama was reelected. That's fine. What's also fine is that she said something so literally, factually wrong that it hurts.

But most at least have the sense to not broadcast their inability to do research.

From Austrailia's Courier Mail:

Clearly disappointed with the election result, 18-year-old Georgia republican Kristen Neel joined the throngs of American Twitter users claiming they were moving to Australia to escape Obama's presidency.

Unfortunately, she got a few facts wrong.

"I'm moving to Australia, because their president is a Christian and actually supports what he says,'' she tweeted.

Neel's tweet quickly went viral as bemused Aussies retweeted it more than 1400 times, many pointing out that Australia actually has an atheist, female Prime Minister.

"Our Prime Minister is a woman, an atheist who lives with a man she hasn't married. I don't think you'd like it here,'' tweeted Ian Cuthbertson, TV editor at The Australian.

Ms. Neel appears to have deleted her Twitter account, likely because she was tired of people making fun of her for doing absolutely zero research about the nation she was planning on moving to—or because she didn't want to face the shame of getting absolutely every detail wrong about Australia's leader, from her title, to her religion, to the fact that she is, well, a she.

In case you missed it, Donald Trump went a bit nuts last night after the major news networks began calling the presidential election for Barack Obama.

Like, calling-for-revolution nuts.

He's since deleted some of his most reactionary, absurd tweets, likely upon realizing how stupid they were, but they still exist on websites such as Mashable:

Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump): He lost the popular vote by a lot and won the election. We should have a revolution in this country!

Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump): The phoney electoral college made a laughing stock out of our nation. The loser one!

(Note: Neither of those things are true as of this writing. And they won't be true in a week's time, either.)

And, of course, he followed that brilliant series with this:

Are you f—king kidding? Out of all of the things that are wrong with this tirade, I've got two comments:

1.) These problems you're identifying are democracy. Sometimes things you dislike happen because a majority of people that you don't identify with won. I'm not crazy-go-nuts about the fact that Joe Arpaio happens to have pulled out another victory over reason in his re-election as sheriff of Maricopa County, but I'm not calling for people to storm Phoenix's Fourth Avenue Jail in an effort to revolt against Arpaio — that'd be irresponsible and stupid, even with my limited reach.

2.) If you make a call for unity after saying that you hope that one group completely stonewalls another unless they do what they want, you are an idiot. You're calling for the House of Representatives to hold our entire damn legislative process hostage over a law that was passed by the House of Representatives before the mid-term election that brought a mass of obstructionists to power.

There will, hopefully, one day be unity in our country again. At least, a unity of the majority of folks — there will always be dissidents, idiots and misguided supporters of fringe third-party candidates.

But that unity can't come when we're vehemently, rudely, obnoxiously vilifying the people who have different political beliefs because of their political beliefs.

We're not on the path to socialism, communism, or straight-up totalitarian regimes. We won't lose our guns, and this health-care program can only help the young people who have yet to find work because of an economy that's still finding its footing as we recover from one of the worst economic situations in our nation's history.

Calm the hell down, people. Take a deep breath. Go to Washington or Colorado and take advantage of their new laws.

But stop calling for revolution — and for the love of God, stop talking about moving to Canada. If you think our taxes and "socialized" health care plans are awful, wait 'til you get a load of theirs.

Taggart Romney, son of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, was interviewed by North Carolina radio station WPTF following the second Presidential debate, and was asked by host Bill Lumaye what it felt like to have President Barack Obama call his father a liar (starting at 00:35 here).

Tagg's response?:

"[you want to] jump out of your seat, rush the debate stage and take a swing at him"

Which isn't a brilliant response, particularly from a 42 year old man who should know better than to say something like that on the airwaves, considering that he's currently serving as an adviser on his father's campaign to be elected the President of the United States.

I can get why he felt that way — after all, no one who actually likes their father enjoys hearing him called a liar. It's an emotional thing. It happens. You don't talk about it on the radio, but it happens.

But this response from Salon.com's David Sirota takes the topic and (to borrow a phrase from Deadspin.com) abandons the damn yard with this absurd tangent about white privilege:

In a post-debate interview with a North Carolina radio station, Tagg was asked about his visceral reaction to President Obama, and he said his first thought was that he wanted to “jump out of your seat and you want to rush down to the stage and take a swing at him.” He then laughed and added, “But you know you can’t do that because, well, first because there’s a lot of Secret Service between you and him.”

One of the hallmarks of White Privilege is the unquestioned and largely unchallenged assumption that white people can say heinous things about people of color without blowback or even mild criticism — things that people of color rarely dare to say about white people, for fear of serious retribution. Tagg — aka Mr. White Privilege — proves the point perfectly. He feels totally comfortable fantasizing about committing physical violence against an African American man. And remember, he’s not just any white guy pondering such grotesque dreams. On the contrary, he’s one of the public faces of a national presidential campaign appearing in a public media interview, meaning White Privilege has made him feel so comfortable airing such notions, that he didn’t hesitate to whimsically broadcast them to thousands of voters.

Seriously? I know that I'm a Hispanic staffer for a newspaper and website that tends to have a leftward lean, but even I'm of the opinion that this was just a stupid, stupid thing said by a son who wants to defend his father's honor.

There's nothing that suggests "white privilege" in his comment — I don't doubt that, had he been asked the same thing about hearing Joe Biden call his father a liar in a public forum, he'd have a similar response.

Tagg Romney needs to be more careful with what he says, and I don't doubt that he'll be shuffled behind curtains for some time while his father deflects questions about Tagg's comment by praising his passion. But to write that Romney said what he did because he's white and President Obama is black is so empty-headed it defies description.

This is why booze and rare birds don't mix.

Two University of California-Berkley law students were arrested in Las Vegas last Friday for allegedly decapitating an exotic bird inside the wildlife refuge at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino.

Eric Cuellar, 24, and Justin Teixeira, 24, have been charged with — I didn't know there was such a specific charge, but then again, it is Vegas — the willful, malicious torture or killing of wildlife, according to the Las Vegas Sun. That's a felony, boys and girls.

The two self-professed law students were seen chasing a "14-year-old helmeted guinea fowl" into a tree-covered area of the Flamingo's courtyard, which hotel guests and anyone randomly coming in off the street can stroll through. Though not seen on surveillance video, a witness allegedly saw the two men walk out of the trees carrying the bird's body, and it's severed head.

I no longer feel that bad at all about any of the ridiculous things I've ended up doing in Vegas.

Just when you think Gaby Mercer didn't have more gems to share with us, there's always her Facebook page:

“And yet another one of our finest Border Patrol Agent is murdered by illegals and one seriously wounded. And some people don't want me to talk about the wide open borders in Arizona?”

Immigrant rights activist Carlos Galindo sent this one out yesterday with the following press release:

NBC IS NOW REPORTING THAT THE TRAGIC INCIDENT THAT TOOK THE BORDER PATROL AGENT’S LIFE WAS FROM FRIENDLY FIRE. OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO THE FAMILY OF NICHOLAS IVIE. WE FULLY SUPPORT AND UNDERSTAND THE DIFFICULTY INVOLVED IN OUR BORDER PATROL OFFICER’S DUTIES.

GABRIELA SAUCEDO MERCER’S COMMENTS ARE OFFENSIVE TO THE IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY AND CREATE FURTHER RESENTMENT ALREADY FESTERING AGAINST IMMIGRANTS IN A VERY POLARIZED ARIZONA. WE HAVE SEEN AT LEAST TWO DEATHS OF LATINOS AT THE HANDS OF ANTI-IMMIGRANTS IN ARIZONA. BRISENIA FLORES IN ARIVACA ARIZONA, AND JUAN VARELA IN PHOENIX ARIZONA.

CANDIDATE SAUCEDO MERCER’S IRRESPONSIBLE COMMENT TO FURTHER HER POLITICAL CAREER IS EXACTLY WHAT ARIZONA DOES NOT NEED AND SIMPLY SERVES TO FURTHER DRIVE A WEDGE BETWEEN THE LATINO COMMUNITY AND OTHER RESIDENTS IN ARIZONA.

Want more Mercer theater? You can catch another debate between her and Congressman Raul Grijalva tonight at Pima Community College's West Campus in the Proscenium Theater at 2202 West Anklam Road, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The debate, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson, also includes other Grijalva challenger Libertarian candidate Blanca Guerra.

I get that PETA is totally against the "collecting and battling" nature of the Pokemon games. It makes sense, and viewing the games as celebrating virtual cockfighting is awful.

But to coincide with the release of the Pokemon games Black 2 and White 2, sequels to the Pokemon Black and White games of two years ago, PETA has published a Flash-based game to talk about friendship and equality and a stance against the virtual dogfighting rings that are made up of grade schoolers who think that Pikachu is cute.

I present to you "Pokemon Black and Blue: Gotta Free 'Em All!":

No, just the image will do fine, thanks.
  • No, just the image will do fine, thanks.

The game that they're running has a number of callbacks to the Pokemon games, and even references a number of tropes within the games, as well as a long-running meme involving the Slowpoke Pokemon — I mean, aside from all of the references to animal abuse that are involved in training real-life critters for fighting others to the death.

Strangely, this game doesn't seem as gimmicky or awful as their others, which include "New Super Chick Sisters," "Super Tofu Boy," "Super Tanooki Skin 2D," and "Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals." (Note: NONE OF THESE ARE MADE UP.)

I'll link to this game, just because it's so bizarre, but I warn you now: the payoff isn't worth the playthrough. Don't say I wasn't warned.

If you'll excuse me, I'm off to go grab my copy of Pokemon Black 2.

A volunteer for the Clay County, Florida Republican Party was recently caught leaving voicemails to Republican voters saying that Barack Obama is a Muslim who wants to end Medicare and turn the United States into a socialist country.

Amazingly, the idea that Medicare is a form of socialism didn't enter this person's pretty little head.

From Raw Story:

“You don’t want Obama,” she said. “You really don’t want Obama, because he’ll get rid of your Medicare. You might as well say goodbye to it… I don’t know if you’ve done any research on Obama or not, but he is a Muslim. He [has] a socialistic view on the, you know, economy, the government, the whole nine yards. If he had his way we would be a socialistic country. Really do pay attention to Fox News, if you can get out and watch that movie 2016 that has a lot of good information. Just really read the newspapers and Fox News will help you out.”

Evidently, the caller went absurdly far off-script from what the Clay County Republican Party provides for their callers.

Honestly, people. If you plan on making an ass of yourself by spouting baseless claims about someone who has been under intense public scrutiny for more than four years, at least don't make an ass of yourself on electronic media.

For more, check out Raw Story.

I'm always near the front of the line when it comes to finding opportunities to make fun of those freaks upstanding young folks from Tempe Normal, a.k.a., Arizona State University. But this is just too much.

A photo surfaced over the weekend of a bunch of ASU fans holding a toddler (in just a shirt and a diaper, no less) up to the nozzle of a keg, likely during tailgate time prior to Saturday's game against Utah. See the report from a Phoenix TV station for yourselves: (UPDATE: Looks like the video's no longer available on the Fox 10 site. We'll keep looking for it.)

Whether it's staged or not — the kid's mouth is ON the nozzle, by the way — doesn't really matter, except in terms of the possibility of any sort of child abuse charges that could come from it. What does matter is that this is a school that many of your kids want to go to. In fact, the photo participants might have gone there.

Says a lot about a school, don't it?
