This has to best summer of Michael Fay's life.
National Public Radio premiered Prom Body's latest music video "Guttuggering" on Friday. The band has been slowly leaking new tracks with different media outlets (most of them can't seem to spell Tucson right) before
Naughty By Natural ships on Aug. 1. You can pre-order the LP/cassette
here.
Here's the latest music video featuring the Prom Body front man:
I just wanted to take a moment and admire Nika Kaiser's work on this high concept video. Check out her other works of art
here.

Last week, we celebrated
Throwback Thursday with Sir Paul McCartney a day after his 72nd Birthday.
Daniel Buckley, veteran journalist and filmmaker, shared a charming photo of himself and the legendary Dolly Parton on his Facebook page. He was kind enough to allow me to share it on The Range.
The photo was taken 34 years old when Buckley was a reporter for the long gone music tabloid,
News Real.
Buckley said he hated getting his picture taken with musicians he was interviewing, but Dolly wasn't just any musician. “I was backstage with Dolly and she pulled me by the waist and demanded that we take a picture together,” Buckley said. “I couldn't refuse a picture The Dolly Parton.”
Here’s the dapper 27-year-old Buckley and beautiful Dolly Parton. After the jump, of course:

Yesterday, Brian Lopez promised to deliver a new track off his upcoming album
Static Noise on his
Facebook page. Thankfully, he delivered on that promise and posted "Crossfire Cries" on his
Soundcloud page earlier today. The singer/songwriter's response to
ULTRA will drop in September, according to Lopez.

In what my R&B-loving wife considers the best news of the year, the Rialto Theatre announced that Chromeo is playing a show here on October 10. Chromeo, a funk-loving Canadian duo, has been cranking out fun and danceable singles for a decade (
including the always amusing "Needy Girl"), but they're currently touring to promote their best album yet,
White Women, which features a bunch of songs that will likely end up as hummable backgrounds to commercials (
like "Jealous" in some cider ad). I've seen these guys twice, including their mainstage performance at this year's Coachella, and they put on a talkbox-heavy dance party that's about as straight-up entertaining as any show I've seen. Good time fun, for sure.
Tickets for the all-ages Chromeo show, with Wave Racer opening, go
on sale Friday and range from $25 to $33.

I must admit, great use of D & D Pinball space.

Sir Paul McCartney hasn't forgotten about Tucson, you guys. In honor of Throwback Thursday, the legendary Beatles member tweeted a photo of himself cutting into his Birthday cake backstage at the Tucson Convention Center. McCartney says this picture was taken on June 18, 1976 during the "Wings Over America" tour.

When was the last time you enjoyed anything without wiping out your cell phone so you can snap a picture or sharing a meaningless Snapchat? It's hard to enjoy live concerts when you're trying to fight for a good view when everyone has their cell phones in the air. That's why Jack White is asking his fans to keep their cellular devices in their lint filled pockets and live in the moment.
White was recently a guest on
Cocco's CBS talk show to discuss his upcoming tour, Iggy Pop and all the easter eggs embedded on the
Lazaretto vinyl.

So, I have decided to ask myself these questions so I can know what it’s like to be put on the spot and define my musical tastes for all of you to admire and or judge. Full disclosure: I used to play the trumpet when I was a lad, so I’m qualified and of sound mind to know what’s good from bad. Aside from writing for the Weekly, I deejay from 2 to 5:30 a.m. every Wednesday morning at 91.3 KXCI F.M.
What was the first concert you attended?
My friend wanted me to go see Chamillionaire and local rap group Dog For Life at the Rialto. I had to stop him from fighting someone because they stole a free shirt he caught. My argument was, “Are you really going to fight someone over a DFL shirt?”
What are you listening to these days?
At the moment the Black Keys’ Turning Blue pique my interest. I have really been into Future Islands, Megafona, Isaiah Toothtaker, Greyhound Soul, Godhunter, Pork Torta, Mission Creeps, Bad Brains, Electric Blankets, Sorry About the Garden, Evasion, Kvasura, The Living End, Prince and Art Blakely.
What was the first album you owned?
Sadly, the first cassettes I owned was the Ghostbuster and Ninja Turtles soundtracks
