Need a pet spayed or neutered? This weekend at ASAVET Charities’ third annual MEGASpay and Neuter event is the perfect time to do it. Starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 (dog day) and Sunday, Oct. 15 (cat day), the group will be providing spay and neuter surgeries for pets, along with any follow-up medications that might be needed. Because the nonprofit wants to do its part to improve animal health and safety, it’s putting the event on completely free of charge.
Completely free of charge.
So if you need a pet spayed or neutered (over 1,200 dogs and cats were spayed or neutered over the first two years, and ASAVET is expecting to provide surgery for about 300 animals this year), head over. If you don’t, head over to their
website to make a tax-deductible donation to a good cause.
The ASAVET MEGA Spay and Neuter Event will be held beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15. at the Old Mission Manor Elementary School, 6105 Santa Clara Ave. Visit
AsavetCharities.org or contact Pat Hubbard at
[email protected] or 403-6947 to learn more.

Hi, I'm Andie!
I am a 1-year-old female looking for my fur-ever home! I am a very shy girl at first but once I get to know you I am very loving. I have a lot of energy so I would like to go to an active home. If you have any kids or dogs currently in your home I would love to meet them. I would do best in a home with older kids. Come meet me at Humane Society of Southern Arizona Main Campus at 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd., or give an adoptions counselor a call at 520-327-6088 x173.

Hi, I'm Sangria!
I am a 3-year-old Dilute Tortie (DSH) looking for the purr-fect home! I came to HSSA with 3 little babies, and happily accepted a mother-less 4th little one back in April. I was a wonderful mom, but I am now ready for a home of my own. I am not feral but I am still getting used to getting so much attention. The really nice people at HSSA have tried to spoil me as much as possible. I let them pet me and hold me, but not for too long. I seek out soft pets, my favorite is on the top of my head. I LOVE to play and will get to take my special stash of toy mice with me when I get adopted. They can keep me entertained for hours!
I am looking for a home where I can be indoor only and that does not have any dogs or small children. I have gotten along with other cats here at HSSA but would do just fine as an only cat. My new owner will need to be patience and have a gentle touch.
Come see me at HSSA Main Campus at 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd. and ask tomeet me, or call an adoptions counselor at 520-327-6088 ext. 173 for more information!

Hi, I’m Wyatt Earp!
I am a cool 2 year old domestic longhair cat looking for the purr-fect home! When I got to HSSA I was very overweight and my teeth were not very good shape. Now I am on a special diet that helped me get back on track for being a healthy, happy cat.
I love people and will sit happily beside you or on your lap. I am very calm and looking for someone just as mellow. I didn’t like my kennel so the nice people at HSSA are letting me stay in our clinic where I am free to roam until I am adopted.
I have been diagnosed with FIV but don’t be scared. It just means I will need to be an indoor only cat. I am looking for a home where I can be the only pet so that I get all of your love and attention. Come fall in love with me at HSSA Main Campus at 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd., or give an adoptions counselor a call at 520-327-6088 x173!

Hi, I’m Lola!
I am an affectionate 5-year-old cat looking for the purr-fect home! I was too stressed in the kennel environment, so the nice people at HSSA sent me to the Almost Home program where I can stay in a foster’s home until I get adopted. I am very affectionate and love giving head bumps and kisses! My favorite spot in the house is a sunny corner with a comfy pet. At night I would like a comfortable bed where I can sleep in by your legs.
I need a home where my new family will give me plenty of time to adjust. I will need to be in a home without other pets, as cats and dogs stress me out. I do best with children over the age of 12. I don’t mind being picked up or held, but would prefer my belly and feet not be touched. If you think you could fall in love with me give an adoptions counselor a call at 915-327-6088 x173 to schedule a meeting.

Hi, I’m Bob!
I am a 3-year-old male cat looking for the purr-fect home! The nice veterinarian here noticed I was in a lot of pain. It turns out I have entropion which means my lower eye lids fold inward. They did surgery and I have made a full recovery!
They also found out I am FIV positive. Don’t be scared though, it only means I will have to be an indoor only cat and cannot be around feisty cats. Living without either of those sounds good to me!
If you think you have the pur-fect home please come meet me at HSSA Main Campus at 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd., or give an adoptions counselor a call at 520-327-6088 x173!
Lots of love,
Bob (840516)

Hi, I'm Bernie!
I am a 5-year-old brown tabby, male looking for the purr-fect home! I came as a transfer from another organization in April. Don't let my tipped ear fool you, I have lived my whole life indoors. I did not like being in a kennel so the nice people at HSSA let me spend my time here in an administrative office.
I am an easygoing cat with a sweet disposition and will allow petting. New people can be scary so I tend to hiss at them to give me some space until I get to know them better. I share my office with Benjy and adore him. I am looking for a home where I can be indoors only and will be the perfect companion for the right person.
Stop by HSSA Main Campus at 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd. and ask to meet me, or call an adoptions counselor at 520-327-6088 ext. 173 for more information!

Meet Harley, a two-year-old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier. This weekend, she and all of the animals at the Pima Animal Care Center can be adopted with no adoption fee, as a part of PACC’s participation in the nationwide “Clear the Shelters” campaign.
Adoption fees will be waved Saturday, Aug 19, and Sunday, Aug. 20. The usual $18 licensing fee for adult dogs will apply, but what’s $18 for a new furry best friend? Not to mention that every adopted pet (all the time, not just for the weekend) comes spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and with a free vet visit.
Clear the Shelters, an event hosted by NBC and Telemundo-owned stations, has led to the adoption of over 73,000 pets since its expansion to the national level in 2015, 50,000 of which took place in 2016. Help break last year’s record by taking home one of the more than 650 pets at PACC that are waiting to meet you.
Look at available pets
online or visit them in purr-son at the shelter, 4000 N. Silverbell Road.

Hi there! I'm Harley!
I'm a cute little 1 year old boy and I need a new home! I came to HSSA as a stray so they don't know a lot about my history, but they do know that I'm a sweet boy!
I'm looking for a home that is willing to give me ample time to adjust to my new environment and get used to my new forever home!
Once I warm up to people I really enjoy going for walks and giving doggy kisses!
If you're looking for a fun dog to join your family I might be the perfect fit! Contact HSSA Main Campus at 520-327-6088 ext. 173 to check on my availability and exact location!
Wags and Kisses,
Harley (842211)
