It's the Pima County Fair's last weekend. That means you have just three more days to enjoy fair festivities such as going to the the freak show, eating pizza on a stick, watching 1990s pop sensations Boyz II Men in concert and riding the glorious Tucson Weekly ferris wheel. Of course there are plenty of other rides at the fair. Read on for more photos and be sure to head out to the fair if you haven't yet.

Prescott, Ariz. — Despite having a listed population of 40,000, Prescott maintains a small town charm that draws in the visitors, coupled with the scenic views that greet yearly visitors as they drive into town.

Performers, musicians and art shows populate the sidewalk almost every weekend, making summertime one of the busiest and best times to visit the historic courthouse.

The elaborate art shows draw crowds from all over the state. Locals dress up their shops to feature booths for food tasting, handmade bags and clothing, items for dogs and many other one-of-a-kind items created by artists.

Many families come by with their dogs, children and friends to enjoy the music, artwork and food.

One of the local Prescott favorites is the “Dinner Bell,” a popular breakfast place that brings in many regulars. The restaurant has been operating since 1939 and reveals that rustic and historic look along with a variety of bright colors on the tables and chairs.

Home to several lakes and campsites, weekends in Prescott is abuzz with outdoor activities. Watson Lake, a popular spot for locals and tourists, is a sight to behold with granite dells standing sentinel around the park, providing healthy fodder for your rock climbers and scenic photographers. Granite Mountain, located in the Prescott National Park, is a very popular hiking site and stands a beacon for any passerby.

Diary (2010) from Tim Hetherington on Vimeo.

Tim Hetherington, conflict photographer and Academy Award nominee for last year's Restrepo, was killed while on assignment in Libya yesterday, along with Chris Hondros, a photographer with Getty Images.

The New York Times photo blog, Lens, has an amazing retrospective of some of Hetherington's work:

To call Tim Hetherington a great photographer would be a mistake. That’s not how he saw it.

“If you are interested in mass communication, then you have to stop thinking of yourself as a photographer,” he told Michael Kamber in a revealing interview last year, as his documentary film “Restrepo” was about to open. “We live in a post-photographic world. If you are interested in photography, then you are interested in something — in terms of mass communication — that is past. I am interested in reaching as many people as possible.”

Mr. Hetherington and Chris Hondros were killed Wednesday in the besieged city of Misurata, Libya. Two other photographers working beside them — Guy Martin and Michael Christopher Brown — were injured.

While no career can be fairly assessed within hours of its end, there’s no question that Mr. Hetherington reached an enormous audience. He was a Vanity Fair staff member, a news photographer, a videographer, a documentary filmmaker (director, producer, cameraman), an artist, a writer and an author — among other occupations, including a turn as an investigator for the United Nations Security Council’s Liberia Sanctions Committee. Lydia Polgreen, who met Mr. Hetherington in 2005 when she was starting out as West Africa correspondent for The New York Times, said, “He was one of those rare photographers who was as much a reporter as any writer I knew.”

Yet his colleagues and friends could not help themselves on Wednesday from saying — first and foremost — that Mr. Hetherington was a great photographer.

Adult Swim swept into Tucson tonight on its Ragbag of Jollification tour. The evening was full of obscure, carnival-themed games, a "hairiest man" in Tucson competition and a bunch of free swag. The evening concluded with super mega heavy guitar riffs from metal band High on Fire. Check out the slideshow of photographs from the event after break featuring photography from Josh Morgan.

Dallas Green throws out the first pitch at Friday's spring training game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the L.A. Dodgers. Dallas' sister, 9-year-old Christina-Taylor Green, was killed in the Jan. 8 assassination attempt on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords that left six dead and 13 wounded, including Giffords, who is recovering at a Houston hospital. Christina had dreamed of being the first girl to play in the major leagues and her little-league uniform number, No. 12, hung on the outfield wall, along with the names of the other Tucsonans killed in the shooting rampage.

Friday's game was a benefit for the Tucson Together fund, which will help victims of the shooting with legal, medical and other expenses. Find more information on the fund here.

Joey Burns of Calexico performs at the second annual Festival en el Barrio Viejo

The second annual Festival en el Barrio Viejo ended with a bang with a performance from Calexico. A plethora of local and national musicians joined in on the performance, including iconic local artist Salvador Duran and the far-out Robyn Hitchcock. Calexico and friends blew minds last night. If you missed the show, or if you want to relive last night's performance, be sure to check out this slideshow featuring photographs from UA journalism students Josh Morgan and Keith Hickman-Perfetti. The song is Calexico's cover of "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" by the Flaming Lips.
