Tomorrow is the big match-up between the Arizona Wildcats and Oregon Ducks at 2 p.m. on CBS, so don't forget to go out and buy some UA furniture arrangements for your Gatos party. But you might want to wait for Target to get the right Wildcat gear first. A reddit user posted a picture from a local Target that had Kentucky Wildcats merchandise on display. It begs the question, who got our UA flare?

One of our faithful Twitter followers sent us this picture from a Target in Louisville:

So, this is good news for all those UA alumnus that moved out to Louisville. We have tried to contact Target, but they aren't responding to our tweets and emails at the moment. Updates coming soon.

It's March, which for most of the country means the gradual release of winter's icy cold grip into a world of warming trends and budding blooms.

In Tucson, it means time to elevate UA basketball excitement to feverish levels.

How crazy is this town for "our Cats?" Tucson police are conducting training exercises Wednesday afternoon to work on tactics dealing with the many different ways that fans might ... celebrate a deep run in the NCAA tournament.

The exercises, scheduled for 3 p.m. at the academy training center on Wilmot Road south of Interstate 10, are meant to help police prepare for postgame celebrations and activities "in anticipation of the U of A men's basketball team's success in the upcoming NCAA tournament," according to an email sent out Monday by TPD spokesman Sgt. Chris Widmer.

(As if the Wildcats didn't have enough pressure from fans and the media to succeed, now it's got to live up to law enforcement expectations)

In all seriousness, such an action plan is well-warranted, as anyone who was in Tucson in 2001 can attest. While the 1997 celebrations following Arizona's surprising run to the NCAA championship were more of the impromptu, hey-isn't-this-awesome? variety — as a sophomore at the UA, I recall hundreds of students converging on the mall after the title game to cheer and whoop it up, only to have the sprinklers come on and turn the celebration into a Lollapalooza 1994 re-enactment — the reaction to losing in the 2001 final was far more ... destructive.

Fourth Avenue was a mass of partiers and people hellbent on destruction, resulting in police breaking out the riot gear and nailing the crowd with rubber bullets to break up the melee. No one wants that, save for the handful of people that believe Keep Tucson Shitty really means Turn Tucson Into Detroit.

Sometimes good things happen to rad people, and lord knows Randi Oomens is rad people.

Oomens lost her vision due to multiple sclerosis in 2008, but that hasn't stop her from enjoying baseball. Oomens is the biggest Tampa Bay Rays fan in Tucson. I have been following Oomens, also known as Ro and @raynaadi on Twitter, for some time, and she live tweets every Devil Rays game. Oomen's lifelong dream is to travel to Tropicana Field and catch a live game. Her enthusiasm caught the attention of the MLB team, Oomen's Twitter followers and the Tampa Bay Tribune.

The beloved Twitter star made the front page of the Tribune's Sunday sports page:

Oomens will meet players and manager Joe Maddon and his coaches. Rays pitcher David Price wants his dog, Astro, to meet Jayden. There will be a Rays home jersey for Oomens and a visit to the radio booth during one of the games.

The Rays gave Oomens 12 tickets to the first three games. Oomens' hotel room and plane ticket have been covered by her Twitter family (and she'll be able to take along her sight dog, Jayden).

There's an early leader in the clubhouse for next year's Oscar for best short film, and it's got the added boost of featuring Keanu Reeves.

The University of Arizona football team has released its latest short, this one addressing the proposed rule in college football that would make it illegal to snap the ball on offense during the first 10 seconds of the 40-second play clock. The rule, most believe, is intended to keep fast-paced offenses like Arizona from being able to move as quickly as they want, though the proponents cite concerns over player safety yet haven't shown any evidence supporting this.

This is pretty much what UA coach Rich Rodriguez says over and over again in this spoof/mashup of Speed, a movie that had a small tie to the Wildcats thanks to Sandra Bullock's taste in sweatshirts.

RichRod steps in for Reeves' character, trying to explain to Bullock why some madman old-school coach (played with scene-eating perfection by UA football recruiting coordinator Matt Dudek) would want to slow the game down. And other than setting a record for the number of times saying "fundamental" in under three minutes, RichRod nails the performance.

Sunday’s Final match of the Accenture Match Play tournament had enough excitement to make even the greatest golf haters want to rush out into garage, blow the dust off grandfather's clubs and hit the driving range.

The heavy weight match that stared young guns Jason Day and Victor Dubuisson had enough miraculous shots that the grass covering Bobby Jones grave has probably grown 6 feet since Sunday. The final 7 holes alone were so impressive that golf legend Gary Player (A 9-time major winner) tweeted, “Not sure I can recall anything like this in 60 years as a pro. Player’s correct, this match seemed to take slices from the movies 300, Gladiator, Star Wars and Bruce Almighty and smash them all together to provide a spectacle of golf round. Yeah, it was that good.

Just to catch your interest, check out this amazing shot by Day on the 11th hole.

If you consider yourself a sports fan then surely you've seen the story from the NFL Scouting Combine that is all over ESPN, Twitter and Facebook that has scouts chirping, fans in shock and NFL owners trying to trade up for high draft picks.

So far the highlight of the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis has been former South Carolina defensive end, Jadeveon Clowney's official 4.53 second 40-yard dash.

Clowney could potentially be the No. 1 overall pick of the Texans in the 2014 NFL Draft. As a 6'5" 266 pound defensive end running a 4.5 second 40, why wouldn't he be?

His unofficial times were 4.47 and 4.48 seconds. "Clowney's unofficial 4.47 40 would've finished sixth among this year's running backs," according to sbnation.com.

Former Arizona 5'9", 207-pound running back, Ka'Deem Carey, who led the Pac-12 with total rushing yards and touchdowns in 2013, ran a 4.7 second 40-yard dash.

Morning radio host Jon Justice is a big fan of driving-a-car-around-in-circles guy Dale Earnhardt Jr., so yesterday was a solid day for Jon, as Earnhardt won the rain-delayed Daytona 500. I can imagine Justice posted this video on Youtube, capturing his reaction to the end of the race, for our collective amusement, so here you go.

This year's Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia has come to a close but not after providing us with thrilling competition and plenty of comical photos of this year's Sochi problems, which became a trending hash tag on social media before and during the games.

In case you missed the opening ceremony where the final ring of the Olympic symbol failed to open from a snowflake. The next day stories started surfacing that speculated the worker responsible for the snowflake malfunction was found dead and President Vladimir Putin ordered the hit. Russia mocked the screwup from the opening ceremony in the closing ceremony by purposely leaving the same ring closed before expanding it in a dramatic and comedic fashion, which received a warm response from the crowd.

  • Hulk Hogan is back!

Whatcha ya gonna do brother, when the 60-year-old pro-wrestling legend and Hulkamania run wild on WWE, again? That's right, Hulksters. Terry Gene Bollea, better known by his ring name Hulk Hogan, will host WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans on April 6.

"I definitely want to stay here in the WWE," Hogan told The Associated Press on Friday. "I just can't see myself ever being anywhere else. This is home. It always has been home. In the twilight of my career, what a great way to be part of the final hurrah for Hulk Hogan and all the Hulkamaniacs."

This feels like good news considering the horrible divorce and that time his son killed a guy. I hope this doesn't prevent Hogan from DJing house parties in Florida. Maybe Vince Mcmahon will fund a No Holds Bar sequel since they seem to be on good terms again.
