Two astonishing come-from-behind wins in the final seconds? Yeah, that's a Saturday to remember for any UA fan. Go Wildcats!

Today is University of Arizona day on ESPN. You've got the football team playing in the New Mexico Bowl right now, and the unbeaten and eighth-ranked Wildcat basketball team squaring off with No. 5 Florida at 8 p.m.

There will also be plenty of airings of various UA-themed commercials — they've already shown the one involving recently booted-out-of-town Arizona Stadium sideline reporter Piper Stoekel twice — as those watching worldwide get inundated with all things Bear Down-ish.

Including, apparently, a fight involving UA football players. On the sideline. Caught by ESPN.

And, of course, turned into an animated GIF.

Enjoy...

It's not often around these parts when significant University of Arizona football and basketball events bleed into each other's territory. Heck, most years by early October the inevitable "when does basketball season start?" queries begin.

But on rare occasions, us Wildcat fans get a little of both. And on the same day. Leaving us with the stressful-but-a-good-problem-to-have situation presenting itself on Saturday.

The UA football team is playing in the New Mexico Bowl (!) at 11 a.m. in Albuquerque, while the unbeaten and eighth-ranked basketball team hosts No. 5 Florida at 8 p.m.

For most of us, this is just going to be an issue of planning our weekend activities around the time parked on the couch in front of the TV, or which sports bar to view the games at, and whether we should go home and sleep off the football buzz before tying another one on for the hoops showdown. Or, in my case, trying to keep the kids distracted during the New Mexico Bowl and then figuring out a way to watch the basketball game while attending a Christmas party at a home that doesn't (!!!) have ESPN.

Then there are the truly dedicated and, in many cases, well-off financially—the ones who intend to attend both contests. If you think it's impossible, think again, as both Southwest and (if you're really desperate) US Airways have flights that leave Albuquerque at 3:40 p.m. and get to Tucson in plenty of time to take a cab over to McKale Center for the nightcap.

Of course, if you're really well-heeled, you're probably on the flight register for one of the private jets that's undoubtedly shuttling top UA sports boosters from one contest to the other. If that's you, can I hide in your carry on?

It's weird to think that I wondered if people would show up for two nights of professional soccer two years ago and now FC Tucson is putting on nearly a month's worth of matches early next year, including an international friendly between Canada and Denmark, but it's actually happening.

Tickets are now on sale for the aforementioned international match and the preseason games involving nine Major League Soccer teams at www.fctucson.ticketsocket.com, but if you head to FC Tucson's Facebook page and join their mailing list, you can get a discount code.

Apparently, Mike Tyson's one-man show, "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth" is coming to UA's Centennial Hall. I am so legitimately excited about this right now that it is incredible.

I mean, it's Mike Tyson, who I believe could have been the greatest boxer of all time and still think could have beaten Ali in his prime, on stage, reciting his life story in a show written by his wife and directed by Spike Lee, of all people. The entertainment potential there, given Tyson's relatively insane personal history, is astounding.

But, to be honest with you, reviews for the former heavyweight champion's show have been, uh...less than great, so far. The New York Times said that Tyson "...is doing little more than relating his well-publicized life story, and, under Spike Lee’s direction, he’s doing so with a clumsiness startling to see on a Broadway stage,"

The New Yorker is more harsh, saying that "the performance feels more like a slavishly chronological series of boozy barroom reminiscences, complete with the high-spiritedness, the cringe-inducing settling of scores, the wallowing, the feints of solemnity, and occasional blubbering incoherence built into that form." But on the bright side, the Telegraph called it an "amusingly honest, if at times self-indulgent, two hours." That's vaguely positive, right?

If nothing else, this has the potential to be one hell of an entertaining evening, whether or not Tyson gets his verbal delivery as sharp as his left hook.

Tickets aren't yet on sale, but Broadway in Tucson appears to be the place to get 'em when they're announced. We'll keep an eye on it.

While all of Arizona is usually always on the same page about everything (insert sarcastic wink here) for most of the year, the one exception is Rivalry Week.

When Arizona and Arizona State — heretofore dubbed by former Weekly web editor Dan Gibson as the Girls Gone Wild University and Casino — meet up on the football field it's much more than a game to determine the winner of the Territorial Cup, or in the case this year a possible berth to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl (!!!!!).

It's about bragging rights. It's about hating on people you're normally friends with, except when it comes to their fondness for gold and maroon (a.k.a., piss and blood). And for a lot of Tucsonans, it's a chance to for one brief moment to try and get past that inferiority complex so many of us have in relation to Phoenix and how they get all the good stuff like Fat Burger, and fake lakes that pop a leak, and Spring Training.

Every inch of the local mainstream media will be weighing in on the UA-ASU game this week, but if you're looking for the best possible insight on Friday, one needs only to hop on Twitter and follow the feed of @FakeRichRod.

Some pearls of wisdom of late:

FakeRichRod also has found a way to tweet whilst calling plays for one of the country's top-rated offenses:

FakeRichRod is, by far, the best source of information about UA football, and not just this week. And it's certainly quicker to the interwebs than one unnamed daily newspaper who's Twitter account tells you the score at the end of the first quarter ... late in the second quarter.

In the interest of fairness, I did search for a Fake Todd Graham account, of which there are four variations. With a combined 188 followers, 151 of which I think are following someone pretending to be a different Todd Graham.
