It can be a challenge sorting out truth and the legend when it comes to the Meet Rack, but hey, if you've ever wanted to see Scott Disick, Kourtney Kardashian (I'm guessing Rob and Scott [he counts, right?], although Kourtney went to the U of A, so who knows?) and a collection of sex toys at one time, tonight could be your lucky night.
From the Meet Rack's Facebook page:
Keeping up with the Kardashians, Season 8, will be filming a cocktail hour at the Meet Rack tonight! (Two of the Kardashians are confirmed to be in attendance). We will put the expected ETA between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm (Monday, 12/2/13). If you want to be a part of what is sure to be an epic evening of fun, show up early enough to sign releases and get loosened up.
I can't even process this information right now, but we'll have more information regarding this pop-culture-debacle exciting opportunity for our city as the story develops.
UPDATE (well, barely): KUWTK production company Bunim Murray was unable to confirm or deny whether the show is filming in Tucson tonight. Also, none of the cast's Twitter accounts were terribly helpful, although I did learn a bit more about Rob's sock company.
UPDATE (a better one, I promise): It would appear Scott and Kourtney are at Miraval, based on a photo on Scott's Instagram (thanks to Range reader, Ian Wilson, for the tip):
Here's a trailer for a documentary on Meet Rack's moral compass, God:

If you're not into going out tonight to celebrate Halloween, might I suggest you cozy up next to a big heaping pumpkin full of candy and check out Ghostwatch.
Ghostwatch was a BBC production that aired 'live' on October 31, 1992. It's an early prototype of reality-horror films; you can feel the influence this had on The Blair Witch Project, the Paranormal Activity series, the V/H/S series, etc. I've seen enough horror films that I'm not that easily spooked (just don't bring up Don't Look Now), but I was having multiple panic attacks when I first saw this a few years ago.
And I'm not alone on this. According to the lengthy Ghostwatch Wikipedia entry, a lot of freaked out and pissed-off viewers phoned the Beeb after it aired to voice their complaints, with many thinking that it was a real deal, despite the "Written by..." credit at the start of the program. Further controversy arose afterwards when children who had watched the program started showing signs of post-traumatic stress disorder. You can read a report on those cases in the British Medical Journal here. Because of all the negative hoopla, the BBC put a decade-long ban on the program.
So what's all the fuss? Ghostwatch is a mock-documentary about a haunted house. Actual BBC reporters investigate a house teeming with poltergeist activity and it's effects on the family. The reporters uncover a sinister spirit named Pipes. Things start getting hinky and before you know it apparitions start popping up in the background, lights explode, temperatures suddenly drop, disembodied voices sprinkle the proceedings and general ghostly mayhem ensues, all in a typical, proper "oh my, Jeeves" British fashion.
Check it out if you dare; you'll be in for some good, quality frights. Just keep repeating to yourself it's only a program, it's only a program, it's only a program...

The Noise, created by Durst, chronicles the rise of a young artist in the 1990s who escapes a tumultuous home life and forms a wildly popular band with a unique sound. Durst, of course, hit it big with his rap metal band Limp Bizkit, which formed in 1994 and went on to superstardom with hits like "Nookie," "Break Stuff" and their cover of George Michael's "Faith."

Gregory E. Carpenter, “Dr. Danger,” worked a number of jobs in his past life, but nothing proved exciting enough. “I used to have a real job,” he says. “But I hated it, so I became a daredevil.” For 20 years, this charismatic, quick-witted daredevil has zigzagged his way across the United States in a $300 Suburban hitched to a trailer full of ramps and explosives. Along with his ragtag group of daredevil pirates, Danger earns a living jumping cars, lighting himself on fire and blowing himself up at monster truck rallies, racetracks, county fairs and festivals. He does it all for a couple thousand dollars and the thrills that keep him going from show to show. It’s a dangerous way to make a living, but as Dr. Danger says, “It ain’t killed me yet.”
Funny man Pete Holmes is a comic book nerd. The Pete Holmes Show is debuting on TBS on Monday, Oct. 28, after Conan. I don't have cable, but this Youtube promo is the best way to get my attention.
I don't get why people hate Superman so much. They explanation is that they have never read All Star Superman by Grant Morrison and Frank Quietly. Nor have they read Allan Moore's For The Man Who Has Everything or Whatever Happened To the Man of Tomorrow. These are great stories and paint the perfect picture for this rich character. That's my sad, fanboy rant for the day.
Tonight's the night for local radio personality R Dub's appearance on Shark Tank, which can be seen at 8 pm on ABC.
Here's what John Schuster wrote about the event in Media Watch this week:
Tucson native R Dub! has worked diligently on his syndicated radio show Slow Jams, featuring rhythmic and pop love songs. Never short on unique marketing approaches, R Dub! came up with an idea that got the attention of a well-known network television program. My mom got me hooked on Shark Tank years ago,” R Dub! said via email. “If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's listen to your mom! I figured that my business was very different from anything else that's ever been in the Tank, and they can only bring on so many cupcake and peanut spread companies before they really needed some new ideas ... so I pitched my syndicated Sunday Night Slow Jams radio show.”
R Dub! made the cut, which he describes as about a dozen-step process that included a five-minute pitch video, numerous interviews and an avalanche of paperwork.
“The experience was absolutely surreal, and the thing I remember most was me telling myself to ‘take it all in.’ My senses were on overload as I looked around at the massive and intricate set and just breathed it all in. The experience of actually being there is beyond what any words could ever express. All I can say to try to describe the feeling is, imagine you are guest-starring on your favorite TV show. Now imagine that the whole episode or segment is centered on you! It was absolutely a dream come true, in every way.”
Every way? Find out if the Shark Tank investors bought the pitch, which included a singing introduction from recording artist Brian McKnight. The segment airs Friday, Oct. 11, on Tucson ABC affiliate KGUN Channel 9.
R Dub! is currently a program director at a radio station in San Diego.
This isn't R Dub's first brush with television fame. He appeared on a comical segment of Judge Mathis a few years ago:
