So, this isn't exactly new—The first season aired in 2013 and the second season wrapped up earlier this month. But if you're looking for some thing to keep you sane/distract you from office life on this fine Wednesday, you should check out Adult Wednesday Addams. It's a web series by Melissa Hunter, following a grownup Wednesday Addams of the Addams Family. She grew up well, you're going to love her. The first episode from the fist season is embedded above to get you rolling. It's okay, though I think the show gets great a few episodes in. These are some of my favorites (and you don't have to watch them in order):

"Is that Blood?" "Is that a blood diamond?"

Remember when we told you that Alton Brown would be coming to town to try out the best Tucson's food and beverage world has to offer? Well, Brown did indeed stop into the city on Sunday, March 22 and it looks like he might have taken some of the suggestions that we saw the most.

Brown posted a photo of the Santa Fe tamale from Tucson Tamale Company, to which one commenter responded:

"Greatest restaurant in the history of restaurants."

Then he snapped a shot of an iconic Sonoran dog from El Guero Canelo, prompting another commenter to say:

"I tried making them last year. It's not easy," attaching a photo of some not-quite-Canelo-worthy dogs ... leave it to the pros.

Next up,  Brown added a photo of him posing with some fresh churros from the Just Churros cart, earning the straightforward response:

"Churros! Gimme."

Before finishing up with a cup of "very good coffee" from Cartel, Brown got a half and half "iced fruit drink" with strawberry and pina colada at Eegee's. While we all know what's up at the Tucson institution, commenters explained it to out-of-towners like so:

"You can't even accurately describe an Eegee's because there's nothing else like it. It's not a slurpee. It's not an icee. It's not a fruit cone. It's one of a kind." Well said, Eegee's-lovin' commenter.

So, what do you think? Did Brown do a good job of hitting up Tucson's must-stop locations for Old Pueblo eats? Where should he come on his next visit?

You're not over Firefly being cancelled, I'm not over Firefly being cancelled, and Nathan Fillion is super not over Firefly being cancelled. Luckily, Alan Tudyk is here for us and he's gonna be making a spaceshow. A spaceshow! The thing is, everybody's favorite spacepilot (and spacecaptain!) is hesitant to trust a network with this new spacebaby—After all, it didn't work out great the last time. They're going the crowdfunding route instead.

The plot, as told on the Indiegogo page:
Wray Nerely (Alan Tudyk-Me!) was a costar on Spectrum, a sci-fi series which was canceled -Too Soon- yet became a cult classic. Wray’s good friend, Jack Moore (Nathan Fillion) starred in the series and has gone on to become a major movie star. While Jack enjoys the life of an A-lister, Wray tours the sci-fi circuit as a guest of conventions, comic book stores, and lots of pop culture events. The show will feature all the weird and crazy things that happen to Wray along the way to at these events these events.
It's called Con Man, because Convention Man doesn't sound as cool.

I don't want to say this is better than more Firefly but (avert your eyes if you haven't seen Serenity) I'm just not sure I could love the show as much without Wash.

Also, Felicia Day, Seth Green, Amy Acker, James Gunn and Gina Torres! Whaaaaaaaaat?!

RuPaul's Drag Race returned last night and Tucson tuned in to root for our favorite local drag queen, Tempest DuJour.

Sadly, RuPaul didn't see what we see and Tempest was the first contestant made to Sashay Away. Today, she released a response to her elimination.

It's NSFW, unless your boss is cool with masturbating bananas.

You're still first in our hearts, Tempest.

Will Forte's new Fox television show "The Last Man on Earth" premiered last night with two episodes, including one titled "Alive in Tucson." That's right, folks: in a beautiful alternate universe Will Forte is running around in his underwear, blowing up cars and drinking out of inflatable pools somewhere off Oracle.

The show tells Forte's story of searching the continent for anyone, with no success. "The Virus" has done away with everyone and Forte is left to roam around by himself. Eventually, discouraged, Forte (well, his character Phil—it doesn't look like this was actually filmed in Tucson) heads to the Old Pueblo.

From the A.V. Club:
Where Tucson once felt like his sunny retirement spot, it’s now a desert blanched of color. It’s no longer a playground; it’s a vast emptiness that’s devoid of any sign of life, whether that means human bodies leftover from The Virus or even a single sign of animal life.
That's us! Wooo!?

The reviews thus far seem generally positive, praising the balance of humor and grief.

More from the A.V. Club:
The Last Man On Earth is in no rush to answer the question it raises. For 18 astonishing minutes, we follow one person’s struggle to maintain his humanity in a human-free world. That’s it. There is one brief flashback to Phil’s life in “the old world,” and the arrival of Kristen Schaal’s “last woman on earth” at the episode’s end signals where the series might be going for a while, but the vast majority of the Forte-penned pilot rests on his shoulders as Phil goes through all the stages of grief, all by himself.

Oh, but it’s a comedy—and a very funny one at that.
And some thoughts from Entertainment Weekly:
The Last Man on Earth is the ultimate Gen-X dystopian fantasy, but with a sober twist that makes it more like that Twilight Zone episode about Burgess Meredith after the apocalypse, tailored to a hyper-relational social-media age. Hooray! Phony, rotten civilization has finally fallen away! We can play with our toys and talk about pop culture and just hang out and chill…except everyone’s dead. Womp-womp!
Womp-womp indeed. I haven't had the chance to watch it yet. Tell me, Tucson: Are we proud to have our name on this?

Good news for everyone interested in the Amazon original series 'Transparent,' but not interested in shelling out $99 a year for Amazon Prime: The series will be free to view on Saturday—just Saturday.

The first (and so far only) season of series consists of 10 half an hour episodes, so it's more than possible to binge watch the whole thing for free. However, if you don't finish in the allotted 24 hours, or if you're just too excited for season 2 (which won't start filming until May), there's more good news. The price of a Prime membership will also be discounted on Saturday to $72, as nod to the 72nd annual Golden Globes, where the series won Best TV series and star Jeffery Tambor won Best Actor in a TV series.

Beginning in 1961 and spanning a decade, "High Chaparral" was a fan favorite for Old West TV shows. Filmed at Old Tucson, the show is full of views of the Old Pueblo. Now, nearly 45 years since the show ended, the starts of "High Chaparral" will be returning to T-Town for a cast reunion.

Thursday, March 19 until Sunday, March 22, some of the series' biggest stars will be at the Casino del Sol Resort to meet fans, sign autographs, perform a scene reading, and have a cowboy-themed dinner. The cast will also visit the ranch house where the show was filmed.

Guests include:
Henry Darrow (Manolito Montoya)
Don Collier (Sam Butler)
Rudy Ramos (Wind)
Susan McCray (High Chaparral's Casting Director)
Kent McCray (High Chaparral's Producer)

Larry Wilmore is taking over Stephen Colbert's time slot on Comedy Central tonight with his new program, the Nightly Show. Wilmore, who you should recognize as the Daily Show's Senior Black Correspondent, will be the only African-American host on late night TV.

His show, which is premiering on MLK Day, was initially supposed to carry the title the Minority Report, matching his segments on the Daily Show. Wilmore had to change the name, however, because Fox is starting a scripted series with the same title. And while Wilmore is excited to continue the dialogue the Minority Report started in regards  to race, he thinks the new title gives the show a little more room to grow.

The gentlemen of the Sunnyvale Trailer Park, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia are coming to Tucson in what might be the most surprising concert announcement in some time.

The Trailer Park Boys' Still Drunk, High and Unemployed tour is scheduled for the Fox Theatre on Feb. 20, 2015, with Ricky, Julian and Bubbles from the Canadian cult comedy (now seen on Netflix here in the States) providing an evening of entertainment:

Having answered to the law in the "Community Service Variety Show" preaching the dangers of substance abuse to avoid jail time, the crew are now on the road without parole officers. Spend an evening with the boys as Bubbles tries to create a new career for himself in the movie industry, Julian puts his latest money-making scams into action and Ricky has an idea that can 'change the world!'

Tickets go on sale Nov. 21.

bottle_breacher.jpg

I'm moderately obsessed with the show Shark Tank, possibly because I'm deeply envious of a) people with great ideas and b) people with money, so imagine my excitement to find that the Tucsonans behind Bottle Breacher, a bottle opener made from 50 caliber ammunition, will be on a special veterans-themed episode this Friday.

Tucson hasn't had the best luck on Shark Tank so far, as radio personality R Dub! failed to get a deal on the show, but did find investors for Sunday Night Slow Jams after the show aired. Tucson doctors Albert and Richard Amini struck out with their RoloDoc service, to the point that Mark Cuban called the pitch the show's worst ever. And, proving that the third time isn't necessarily the charm, father/son duo Chase and Bill Hoyt struck out with the Intelli-stopper, due to the price point of their valuation.

Shark Tank airs on KGUN 9 Friday night at 8 p.m.
