All of the fires on this list are way more delicious than the fries in this photo look.

Yep: It's another Best of Tucson blog. There's just about 2.5 weeks left to make your voice heard in our annual guide to everything entertaining, useful and delicious in the Old Pueblo.

Today just happens to be a National French Friday, making it the perfect time to do your due diligence and make sure you're really picking the most delicious fries on our list of finalists.

And the contestants are:

Crispy's Fish-n-Chips
Diablo Burger
eegee’s
Graze Premium Burgers
US Fries

Grab some fries (and maybe a milkshake to dip them in) and get to filling out your Best of Tucson ballot

Either weather.com is punking me or Tucsonans shouldn't be allowed outside this coming Sunday.
Putting that aside (and promising not to leave dogs outside during these harsh conditions!), try to remember the things you actually do love about being outside in Tucson.

The second round of Best of Tucson voting is live and our Outdoor categories need a little love.

Take a moment to fill out your ballot (vote in at least 30 categories for your vote to a count!), and pay special attention in the categories of:

Best Dog Park
Best Public Garden
Best Bike Riding
Best Hike
Best Backpacking Trail
Best Campground
Best Park
Best Outdoor Recreation/Sporting Goods Store
Best Bike Shop
Best Day Trip
Best Golf Course

Also, go drink some water. You're probably dehydrated.

You've got until July 31, but why wait? The second round of Best of Tucson voting has opened up and it's time for you to cast your votes

Then, when you're done appreciating the best of the Old Pueblo, grab some ice cream and plan a trip to Hermosillo

This is one-fifth the amount of ice cream I'm expecting you to eat.

Today is, miraculously, not quite the scorcher yesterday was. Even so, it is hot as all hell outside and you should get some ice cream. But from where?

Well, maybe from one of the five (or five of the five) local ice cream places Tucson has deemed the best.

We've just opened the second round of Best of Tucson voting. We tallied your votes from round one and came up with a list of finalists based on your input.

You've got until July 31 to fill out your ballot, and you should absolutely spend some of that time taste testing the restaurants recommended in the Casual Dining, Restaurant and Cultura sections.

The five finalists for Best Ice Cream are: Allegro GelatoCashew CowFrost Gelato, the HUB Ice Cream Factory and the Screamery. Report back when you're finished.

Time's almost up! I won't waste your time with witty banter here because your Best Of Tucson ballot is due by the end of the day Sunday and we don't accept late work in this class, buddy.

Vote! Fill out at least 30 categories, support local business and (if you're new) make sure you sign in using your full name because...

IMPORTANT: If our website is telling you "someone has already logged in with this email address using a different name" that someone is probably you! If you've ever opened a Best Of Tucson ballot (in any year), you've got a voter account. Your name is your forever Best of Tucson password. You have to type your name the exact same way from year to year, or you won't be able to get into the ballot. Can't figure out how you typed your name last year? Email me: [email protected]

How could we be here already? The first round of Best of Tucson® voting closes at the end of next Sunday, May 15.

Once the gates close on this ballot, our team of caffeinated pandas will comb through your answers and compile a ballot of finalists based on the top 5 nominees in each category.

Give us about a week to get everything together then be on the look out for the finalists to be announced (and the second round of voting to open)!

Vote. Spread the ballot. Time is running out!

P.S. Are you having trouble getting into your ballot? There's a reason the ballot says first and last name are required! Your name is, in essence, your Best of Tucson password. You have to type your name the exact same way from year to year, or you won't be able to get into the ballot. Can't figure out how you typed your name last year? Email me: [email protected]

Don't stress yourself out trying to vote in every Best of Tucson category. Just tell us what you know.

I was ready to call you all cheaters, but that would have been a hot take.

The first round of Best of Tucson® voting wraps up May 15, and I've started going through the ballots in preparation. Turn out, ya'll are pretty bad at reading directions.

I came across a lot of "N/A" and "?" votes. Investigating, I expected to find ballots with only a few genuine answers and a bunch of "N/A"'s bumping the number of responses over the 30 category minimum. I was ready to throw out some ballots.

Instead, I found a stack of ballots that had been properly filled out—with the notable exception of "N/A" being filled in for absolutely every category voters didn't have an opinion. That's a lot of extra typing.

(As I seem to type on this blog at least once a week)(And as it says in the rules of the ballot), You only have to vote in a minimum of 30 categories in Best of Tucson®. Don't know where the best place to buy a piñata is? Leave that category blank and let the rest of the Old Pueblo weigh in.

Vote local, share the link with your friends and fans, and don't stress about typing something in for all 191 categories.*

Seeing the Best of Tucson winners list is always a lot fun—a vetted list of where to grab a drink, where to ride your bike and which shows to see.

But Best of Tucson is also there for more practical advice: Who is the best handyman? Which dealership should you go to when buying a used car? Where should you take that car when the "check engine" light comes on?

Best Of is a Tucsonan-approved guide to the entire city, and you should keep that in mind when you're voting. Get in there, fill out your ballot, and remember some poor new-to-Tucson soul is going to be counting on your advice when their laptop crashes one week into their new job.

Tucson, you've probably noticed we're a little bit blessed when it comes to game stores. Pretty much anywhere in town, you're just a few minutes away from picking up a game of Catan or some Magic the Gathering cards.

Support your favorite local game stores in Best of Tucson's Best Game Store category—but also support them in real life because we've seen too many (Hat's, A2Z, Game Daze) call it quits over the last few years.
