Don't ask why I was searching YouTube for a karaoke version of "Islands in the Stream", but this is what came up. All I know is that this guy will also be starring in my nightmares tonight in the same costume.

It would take a lot to get me pumped up to put in a workday at Wal-Mart, and I don't suspect this particular take on a Queen classic would be quite enough.

I try to avoid going to Tucson's malls (mostly because I can't resist the temptation of Cinnabon), but this guy and his delightfully Autotuned lyrics really make Dubai's palaces of commerce seem so appealing. Did he say that one of the malls has an ice rink and a 22 screen cinema? Get me a ticket, I'm on my way right now.

Mr. Hollywood and Mr. Weeping Supreme Court Justice...when will you ever learn and recognize that America is nothing but a Christian nation? Why do you deprive the rest of us of our blessings? Will this poster, as seen on TV, help to change your wicked ways?
BONUS: A video on the making of the painting, with some very dramatic music:

Even though he blocked us so via the @TucsonWeekly account we can't see his stream-of-semiconsciousness tweets, our new pal @cybergrindz still has quite a bit to say to us. Yesterday's highlights (before Twitter froze his account for overtweeting, no joke):
If this guy starts into something about Kenneth and the frequency, I'm officially going to start freaking out.

For some reason, Twitter user (or as I prefer as terminology "Twuser") "cybergrindz" decided to flood the Tucson Weekly's feed with a series of mentions making very little to no sense today (although maybe someone should look into his idea for an "Eastside Rio Nuevo"), before blocking us when I asked why.
However, he may have blocked the Tucson Weekly, but you can still enjoy his takes on the discounted pashminas at Walgreens, somewhat disturbing anti-Obama tweets, and this perfect summary of the harm done to our state in the wake of SB-1070:
How dare you separate a man and his love of Canadian female singer-songwriters, Rep. Grijalva? How dare you.

Sure, the monsoon has finally decided to visit again! But what about when it leaves, leaving you sweaty, sunburned, and angry? Well, you can always click on Rainy Mood, which is, believe or not, a website entirely devoted to rain sounds. As literally just a loop recording of rain, Rainymood.com isn't the most technological of sites, but it sure is a relaxing piece (albeit weird) piece of the internet.

There are all kinds of truly wonderful events happening to honor the upcoming 9/11 anniversary on Sunday. Stories that have been circling the internet for weeks have made me remember what it was like as a 14 year-old to watch the second plane fly into the second tower live on television.
The following is an attempt to fall in line with engaging in those feelings and falls so short it falls flat on its face.

One of the most awesome things about Etsy crafters is the way they leap on human suffering with a hot glue gun and a bag full of bottlecaps. I like to call it, “Tragicrafting.”We’ve seen Amy Winehouse death crafts, a Liz Taylor pile on, some super fun hurricane swag, and perhaps most tastefully, a Casey Anthony payday! So is it any wonder that Nine-Elevenailia has been steadily creeping into The World’s Most Vibrant Handmade Suckhole?
A cynical person might suggest that this is just another crappy way to make a buck, but by now you know that I am not a cynical person. I’m a God damned Pollyanna, is what I am. And I will tell you right now that Tragicrafting™ is not about money; it’s about healing.
Yes, closure is just a click away. And it only takes Paypal.

When I was a kid, the rumor was if you swallow bubblegum it will sit in your stomach for seven years... so I didn't swallow it! And who the heck wants a belly-full of bubblegum anyway?
Apparently Texans.
"Fried Bubblegum" was named most creative food by State Fair of Texas judges during this year's annual Big Tex Choice Awards. I know... my first reaction was "WTF?...people are eating chunks of bubblegum??" Rest assured, it's just deep fried bubblegum-flavored marshmallows covered in icing and sprinkled with chiclets, which can't be quite as bad for you right?
I still don't think I would swallow it.
