There are some nice moments in this
minor film by John Waters, but it doesnt
really stand up to his best work. A Dirty
Shame is the story of a section of
suburban Baltimore thats being overrun
by concussed sex-addicts. Their hero and
savior is the Christ-like Ray Ray (Johnny
Knoxville), whose orgasm-inducing oral
activities free the heart and groin of
uptight neuter Sylvia Stickles (played by
the dreaded Tracey Ullman). This is sort
of the happy, feel-good Disney version of
a John Waters film. As such, its certainly
better than most happy, feel-good Disney
movies, but not as good as most creepy,
feel-unwell Waters movies.
