In this underwhelming animated movie, a little kid (the voice of Freddie Highmore, sans his British accent) gets killed by a rampaging robot and is resurrected as a super-robot boy. He must deal with the mixed feelings of his scientist dad (Nicolas Cage) and a group of plucky human children led by a girl (Kristen Bell) who doesn’t like robots. The premise is a little boring, and it’s not helped by the fact that the animation is lackluster. The plot involves some robot fights and political garbage surrounding a bland character voiced by Donald Sutherland. They got Sutherland’s big teeth right, but that’s about all they did correctly with this venture.
