Sure, its OK to knock over a bank, thwart
the police and risk your life, but only if your
father needs the stolen loot for a
miraculous operation that will hinder his
paralysis. At least thats the twisted
morals that director Bart Freundlich
suggests when he made this completely
offensive and implausible remake of the
2002 Danish flick, Catch That Girl.
After Daddy Dearest (Sam Robards)
injures his spine in a mountain-climbing
accident, his loving daughter (Kristen
Stewart) devises a brilliant plan with her
mechanically savvy friends to rob a highly
secured bank in order to fund Daddys
surgery. Fortunately, Mommy Dearest
(Jennifer Beals) is the security chief of the
targeted bank who provides
much-needed insight into the banks Fort
Knox security system. How else would
this weak After-School Special and
Spy Kids wannabe be able to
stretch into 100 minutes of disgusting fart
jokes, high-tech high-jinks and boring
go-cart escapades?
