Until I saw this movie, Saw was my
pick for 2004s worst horror film. We have
a new winner. Oscar winner Anna Paquin
stars in this plodding, putrid supernatural
thriller that doesnt make a lick of sense.
Some jibber-jabber about ghost children,
a house where the lights go out a lot, and
Lena Olin are supposed to scare us, but
they dont. It's 90 minutes of actors
looking confused, getting locked in rooms
from time to time, and people spending
the night in their house shortly after
discovering a sacrificial alter under the
floorboards. Even if you should figure out
whats going on here, its highly likely you
wont give a damn due to the snails-pace
presentation peppered by the occasional
jarring sound effect. I would like to give
away the ending, thus spoiling it for you
and preventing you from seeing it.
Problem is, the film really doesnt have an
ending. When the credits roll, you are left
with no answers to any questions and a
lot of people in the audience yelling,
What a piece of shit!
