Did You Hear About the Morgans?

After witnessing a murder, estranged couple Paul (Hugh Grant) and Meryl (Sarah Jessica Parker) are thrust into the witness-protection program and sent to live in a small Wyoming town. After the initial culture shock, the two begin to settle into their new lives and try to work out their marital problems. However, once their love begins to be rekindled, new problems arise, including a secret of Meryl’s and the murderer’s attempts to track them down. Morgans uses every rom-com cliché it can pack into its 103-minute runtime, and Parker is beyond bad, basically playing a hyper-annoying caricature of Carrie Bradshaw, while Grant does his bumbling-Englishman routine for the millionth time. Even strong actors such as Sam Elliott and Mary Steenburgen, in supporting roles, can’t save this one.
