Fahrenheit 9/11

This is Michael Moore’s best and most manipulative film to date. An artistic success and a political masterpiece, it’s Moore at his most slanted and propagandistic. It’s also a tremendously important film, in that it highlights stories that were under-reported in the major media. I wish it had spent more time on the deregistering of thousands of eligible voters in Florida prior to the 2000 presidential election, because that is by far the most sickening and disturbing thing to happen in American democracy since 1960. But at least it covers this, and a lot of other unsavory aspects of the Bush presidency. Every president deserves a Michael Moore to show him his worst side. I hope John Kerry gets his.
