Firehouse Dog

Tinseltown’s top Irish terrier is believed to be dead after a high-in-the-sky stunt goes wrong, and the dog with a diamond collar unwillingly trades in his luxurious lifestyle for life among the poor and pedantic. When his latest makeshift dwelling goes up in flames, a sad and single fireman (Bruce Greenwood) comes to his rescue. The firefighter’s troublemaking 12-year-old son (Bridge to Terabithia’s Josh Hutcherson) tries to find the pampered pooch’s owner, but instead finds responsibility and a reconnection with Dad in a cliché, after-school-special kind of way. Director Todd Holland turns in average work with this innocent family fare.
