I wish the bad parts of this film were better, because the good parts are great. Michael Caine stars as the night janitor at the worlds largest diamond exchange. Unbeknownst to his supercilious employers, he has a long-term grudge and an ingenious plan for dealing with his grievance. Unfortunately, more of the film is dedicated to Demi Moores role as the only female manager at the firm, and her difficulties in being repeatedly passed over for promotions while less-qualified men advance. Its an interesting concept, but that aspect of the film is poorly written and freakishly performed by a frozen-faced Ms. Moore. Caines tremendously strong performance, though, is matched by a clever and well-paced story about what it would take to drive a man to crime. If Caine were the center of the film, Flawless would be great. Instead, its mediocre, with a manipulative and intrusively uninteresting soundtrack substituting for real feeling. In short, a mixed bag.
