From Shaman to Surgeon: Military Doctors and Early Medicine in the Southwest, 1776-1916

The exhibit explores the details of 18th and 19th century Army Medicine and also early civilian medical practitioners in Southern Arizona and the Southwest. The 18th century segment includes medicinal treatments available to the residents of the Tucson Presidio, including curandera and native treatments.
