Sequels like this are about bringing in the big bucks, nothing more. In this superfluous follow-up to the 2004 original, the plot bears no new insight. The dialogue remains mundane. And the fat orange cat still looks obnoxiously fake. Parents will love the baby-sitter effect this kids flick has, but theyll soon be bored by Jon Arbuckle (Breckin Meyer) attempting to propose marriage to his long-time love interest (Jennifer Love Hewitt). Kids will love the cute barnyard animals and the endless fart jokes as the selfish feline gets caught in a typical case of mistaken identity with a royal kitty cat in London. The director of the original, Peter Hewitt, intelligently refused to collaborate with the same cast and crew in this second go-around. Lets hope new director Tim Hill follows suit and takes the rest of the crew with him so were spared a third installment.
