Sitting bumper-to-bumper during rush hour traffic in the sweltering Tucson heat with no air conditioning would be less annoying than this obnoxious and dimwitted skater flick by rookie director Casey La Scala. Pretty boy Adam Brody stars as a Tony Hawk wannabe who quits his day job as the Sheriff Bean mascot at a fast food restaurant to become the next pro skateboarder. Lunkhead Sidekick No. 1—the poster boy for obscene sexual harassment and Lunkhead Sidekick No. 2—who looks like Screech’s long lost cousin, join their daydreaming pal on a cross-country tour to reach skateboarding fame. Even though the fast-paced skateboarding tricks are adequate eye candy, the script’s utter stupidity, the cast’s relentless will to irritate and Tom Green’s cameo as a stoned clerk with long locks grind this film to deserving shreds.
