In this bland wannabe version of The Da Vinci Code, screenwriter Roberto Girault unveils the supposed hidden secrets of the Virgin Marys divinity. This time, the mysterys clues involve Our Lady of Guadalupe and a 16th-century shroud. While Da Vinci Code writer Dan Brown denounced the Christian faith and highlighted the rift caused by the religious conspiracy, Girault offers refreshing praise of Catholicism and celebrates its unifying achievements. Like the director of the 2006 blockbuster, Santiago Parra uses flashbacks to provide biblical background information. However, Parras jolting editing reveals inept storytelling skills more than confident filmmaking.
