Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay

The first adventure for this stoner duo (played by Harold Cho and Kal Penn) was a hilarious and gross howl. This time out, it’s just gross. The sequel picks up where the first film left off, with Kumar (Penn) taking a huge White Castle shit while Harold showers. Things generally get worse from there, as the two are mistaken for terrorists on an airplane. A lot of the first film’s jokes—including the big pot bag and Neil Patrick Harris—return, and they’re just not as funny this time. There is one bit involving a cyclops boy that had me laughing hard; it’s wonderfully creepy, and the film needed 10 more moments like it. I wouldn’t mind seeing the further adventures of these two; they just need a better script and better directors.
