This is what those Doris Day/Rock
Hudson romantic comedies would look
like if they were made by cynical French
people. Audrey Tautou, famous for her
enormous eyes and lovable lead in
Amelie, plays a charming young
woman who is in love with a married
man. The affair is told from her
perspective, then the film is rewound and
told again from his perspective
except
that he doesnt really have a perspective.
Its an amazing cinematic trick, and it
replicates the course of love itself, in that
it starts as a romantic comedy and ends
as a creepy, Hitchcock-esque thriller.
