Italian for Beginners

Writer/Director Lone Scherfig intertwines six strangers who apparently are all walking magnets of dissonance and despair since their relatives drop off like flies from one illness to another while verbal abuse, bad news, loneliness and suppression attack from all directions. Therefore, these down in the dumps Danish half dozen find odd solace out of hope and desperation in their weekly Italian language class together. This Depress Fest is uninteresting with no appealing characters or stand out performances from the cast or crew. It just makes you want to go home and immediately pop some Prozac.
