Jasmine Smith ~ sculpture (altered books). Artist’s Statement: As an artist, I began to consider whether a book could motivate a reader in just one glance, communicate a theme in just seconds. And so I started carving words into books, matching my words to the meaning of the original text. Art reception for Jasmine Smith on July 5th from 3-5 p.m.
