This movie, from the director of Bubba Ho-Tep, shall mess with the head of those who view it. There’s some sort of bizarre drug nicknamed soy sauce, and it does things to the user that I will not even try to explain in this review. You will have to see the movie and figure things out for yourself. Chase Williamson makes for a fun protagonist in Dave, friend of the title character, who spends this movie doing stuff that, well, as I said, I’m just not going to try and explain. Paul Giamatti, who had expressed hope that he would be in a Bubba Ho-Tep sequel that never materialized, gets his chance to work with writer-director Don Coscarelli. He plays an interviewer who winds up going through somewhat of an identity crisis. OK, that’s it; I’m not going to explain anymore. If you like weird, weird movies, make sure to take this in.
