Leap Year

Anna (Amy Adams) is a control freak desperate to get engaged to her yuppie boyfriend, Jeremy (Adam Scott). When he doesn’t pop the question before he leaves on a trip to Dublin, she hops on a plane and hopes to propose to him there on Leap Day, an Irish tradition. However, due to turbulence, she only makes it to a tiny Irish seaside town, where she pays pub owner Declan (Matthew Goode) to drive her the rest of the way. Leap Year steals from movies like French Kiss and The Sure Thing, and while there are a few funny parts in the middle, the beginning and the ending are both poorly edited and cliché-ridden. A blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo by John Lithgow (as Anna’s father) is bizarre.

Leap Year is not showing in any theaters in the area.
