Letters to God

Thinly strained doubt is about the only conflict in Letters to God. A postman (Jeffrey S.S. Johnson) begins carrying letters from a cancer-stricken boy (Tanner Maguire) written to the Man Upstairs. It’s tough to actually deliver such letters, so the postman seeks advice from the local constabulary, which helps the alcoholic mailman conquer his own demons. Just when skepticism rears its ugly head, in comes the softening touch of the straight line to the ending you knew was coming all along. A faith-based drama with its heart in the right place (if nothing else), Letters to God is impervious to criticism; the only people bound to see it will do so because it confirms what they already believe.
