Lorna's Silence

Lorna is an Albanian who has illegally acquired Belgian citizenship through a scam marriage to a Belgian junkie. Now the thug who arranged her marriage wants to kill the junkie so he can pimp Lorna out to a Russian who also wants Belgian citizenship. Lorna’s Silence starts slowly, and with little explanation, but builds into a tense thriller with strong psychological elements. Arta Dobroshi is beautiful and effective as Lorna, and Jérémie Renier, recently seen in the similarly paced Summer Hours, is excellent as her junkie husband. If you’re willing to stick with the slow buildup, Lorna’s Silence pays off in increasing complexity, tension and suspense.

Lorna's Silence is not showing in any theaters in the area.
