Love Liza

A relentlessly sad small film that features Phillip Seymour Hoffman as a guy whose wife has just killed herself. Unable to read her suicide note, he takes up huffing gasoline as a way to kill the pain. Sadly, this leads him inexorably into the world of remote control modeling, and soon he’s bottoming out at RC conventions. Kind of a Leaving Las Vegas with gas and toys instead of booze and hookers, Love Liza is genuinely affecting and genuinely weird, which will probably keep its audience small, dedicated and nerdy. Count me in!
