Tyler Perrys latest look at his eclectic Southern clan is nothing more than a string of contrived sitcom scenes featuring cartoonish characters. Our supposed heroine, Brenda (Angela Bassett), is an unemployed, single mother of three struggling to get by in the inner-city streets of Chicago. Soon, she receives a letter letting her know about the death of a father she never knew. Once Brenda arrives in Georgia to meet the Browns, the premises potential vanishes, and stupidity ensues, despite the failed attempts at conveying family values and faith.
