Nicolas Cage, sporting a hairpiece not nearly as bad as the one he wore in Ghost Rider, plays Cris Johnson, a Las Vegas magician who can see two minutes into the future. A stolen nuclear bomb is loose in the United States, and a government agent (Julianne Moore) decides that Cris is her solution. The nuclear-bomb thing takes a backseat to a love story that sees Cris pairing up with Liz, played by Jessica Biel—and Cris can see Liz naked two minutes before she’s actually naked! The premise of the film sounds interesting, but it’s jumbled by director Lee Tamahori, and it ends in an unsatisfactory manner. Cage has been in a lot of bombs lately, and he needs a comeback. A couple more films like this, and we might just forget he’s a decent actor.
