Ninja Assassin

Good lord, this is one bloody movie; as far as bloody ninja movies go, this one is king. Unfortunately, the script involving a super ninja (played by Rain) and his involvement with government types is lame and confusing; as a result, most moments that don’t involve fighting aren’t worth watching. Rain actually has the makings of a decent action star; he just needs some better material. Director James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) stages some gnarly fight scenes, but the dialogue is often unintentionally hilarious. It’s a good-looking movie that lacks brains, unless you count the ones that are constantly splattering the screen.
