Non-Stop

You keep waiting for things in the new Liam Neeson action flick, Non-Stop. You keep waiting for him to figure out which passenger on the plane is behind the menacing text messages telling him someone on board will die every 20 minutes unless Neeson pays a huge ransom. You’re waiting for it to be as bad as Taken 2. And waiting for it all to make a lick of sense. The film eventually accomplishes one of those things: Obviously, we do figure out who the villain is, and all the mystery leads to one solution among many possibilities, none of which would be particularly satisfying. But as ridiculous as it is, Non-Stop is still vastly more enjoyable than Taken 2. Credit Neeson’s stolid refusal to camp it up and a stabilizing performance by Julianne Moore. It’s still stupid and everything, but Non-Stop has a couple of good moves
