Kevin James' shtick as an overzealous, overweight and lonely mall cop is not cute or endearing. It's annoying and pathetic. The repetitious, one-note jokes (co-written by James) are not funny; they're lame and often land with a loud thud. This raises the question: Why would Happy Madison Productions, Adam Sandler's film company, green-light this film, which is not even worthy of straight-to-DVD status? And how in the world did this piece of crap soar to No. 1 on the box-office chart?
