Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls said it best: When you learn to love yourself, you will dissolve all the stones that are cast. Admirably, writer Leslie Caveny conveys the same message in this modern-day fairy tale with a twist: Learning to love yourself instead will dissolve the centuries-old curse that turned your nose into that of a pig. Christina Ricci stars as the titular swine-snouted aristocrat whose character is disappointingly vapid. Fortunately, other characters are far more interesting, including Peter Dinklages one-eyed reporter in search of revenge, James McAvoys disheveled gambling addict and Reese Witherspoons raspy-voiced gothic barfly.
