This Ashton-and-Demi-like romantic comedy is similar to the tabloid love affair: Its entertaining to watch, but quickly forgettable, since we dont really care in the first place. Uma Thurman plays Demi, I mean Rafi, a 37-year-old divorcee who meets a 23-year old yuppie arteest (Bryan Greenberg). The mismatched couple engage in an unconvincing relationship and a lot of sex, all of which Rafi details explicitly to her shrink (Meryl Streep). For shock value and humor, the head doc with strong Jewish beliefs turns out to be Juniors disapproving mommy. Thanks to the spoiler of a trailer, this predictable bomb fizzles way before impact. Writer/Director Ben Younger creates this Woody Allen-esque New York City love twist that has the good fortune of having an impeccable cast that can fight off the true banality of each scene.
