Very standard documentary format
doesnt take away from the interest and
oddness of this film, which presents the
odd story of Theresienstadt, a Nazi
concentration camp made out to look like
an artists paradise. Prominent Jews
were gathered there for photo-ops and
propaganda pieces, and the setting was
made to look less like a prison and more
like a vacation home. The film especially
follows Kurt Gerron, a Jewish prisoner
who was forced to make a movie, "The
Fuhrer Gives A City To The Jews," for
propaganda purposes. Prisoners of
Paradise is an interesting and largely
untold tale of the weirder side of evil.
