Shaolin Soccer

An incredibly goofy film that I’m sure children will enjoy to no end, Shaolin Soccer is the story of a team of super-powered kung-fu soccer players who must defeat Team Evil in order to ... well, I’m not sure why. But Team Evil is evil, so no doubt they must be defeated. Lots of great soccer/kung fu action sequences keep things moving, but the silliness sometimes overwhelms the story. Still, it’s a fun little outing and, just like a night in Asia with David Beckham, it includes some thrilling acrobatics and lots of flaming soccer balls.
