Eighth grade has just ended, and high
school will be here faster than you can say
"Britney Spears." So the obvious thing
weighing heavily on every tweeners mind
is, "Like, I just totally have to eat lunch by
the fountain, where all the popular kids
do." At least thats what Joe Nussbaum
apparently thinks, since he directed this
shallow and pointless dumbfest for
13-year-olds. Alexa Vega (Spy Kids)
plays Julie, one girl in the herd of nameless
popularity-obsessed pubescent teens
whose slumber party of pedicures and fried
Twinkies is flipped upside down when
Queen of the Snobs poses a scavenger
hunt. Since the grand prize is the coveted
lunch seat by the fountain, Julie and her
cohorts commit at least a dozen crimes and
fool every mindless adult out of superficial
desperation. Implausibility reigns supreme,
and a perfectly packaged sitcom ending
lets Julie get the young Tom Cruise
lookalike since he is "so plush."
