Southwest Wings Birding and Nature Festival

Ranked as one of the best birding festivals in the U.S., Arizona's longest-running nature festival takes place Wednesday through Saturday, July 31 through Aug. 3. Lectures, guided tours, field trips, seminars, vendors, displays, lectures, bat stalks, owl prowls, displays and arts and crafts activities are priced separately; free to $35. Highlights are a pontoon trip on Patagonia Lake, a visit to the Audubon Research Ranch and a lecture by Scott Weidensaul, author of Of a Feather: A Brief History of American Birding.
